NAWA STER
INTERNATIONAL and INTERDISCIPLINARY DOCTORAL SCHOOL of KOZMINSKI UNIVERSITY
As part of the project “INTERNATIONAL and INTERDISCIPLINARY DOCTORAL SCHOOL of Kozminski University (IDSKU)”, implemented under the NAWA STER programme, we organised a series of guest lectures and seminars for the doctoral candidates of our Academy. These activities support the project’s key objectives related to the internationalisation of the doctoral school – in particular the internationalisation at home component – the development of doctoral students’ research competencies, and the building of international academic networks.
Our invited speakers – including Prof. Reinhard Bachmann, Prof. Thomas Hogan, Mag. Martin Gumiela and Prof. Charles H. Cho, among others – presented their current research and theoretical perspectives on topics such as trust and institutions in organisations, the economics of money and finance in the context of cryptocurrencies and DeFi, contemporary economic history of Central and Eastern Europe, as well as social and environmental accounting, CSR and publishing in leading academic journals. This provided our doctoral candidates with exposure to cutting-edge research trends, diverse paradigms and methodologies, and practical guidance on designing research projects, writing academic papers, and developing an academic career.
The meetings were highly interactive (including discussions, Q&A sessions and workshop elements), which supported the development of skills in presenting one’s own research, engaging in critical scientific debate, and building relationships with scholars from leading international institutions. In this way, the lecture and seminar series contributed directly to the STER project’s goals of enhancing the quality of doctoral education, strengthening the international profile of Kozminski University Doctoral School, and increasing the visibility of our University and Polish science in the global academic community.
