The Opening Ceremony for the 2024/2025 academic year took place on October 7, during which KU Prof. Witold T. Bielecki, President of our University and Chairman of the Competition Chapter, and Prof. Grzegorz Mazurek - Rector of KU presented statuettes to the winners and thus crowned this year's edition of the “Lions of Kozminski” competition.
The "Kozminski Lions" competition is an initiative that has been carried out for 19 years under the care of the Kozminski University Alumni Club. Every year, out of nearly 78,000 alumni community, the Alumni distinguished by a spectacular professional career that can serve as a model for younger generations, are selected.
This year, the statuettes were awarded to:
Public administration
Ms. Marta Nizalowska-Pactwa - Director General at the Ministry of Finance.
Responsible for key offices of the Ministry, such as the Office of the Director General, Control and Internal Audit, as well as Finance and the Security Office. She is successfully implementing digital transformation tasks in the Ministry.
She is an alumna of the 23rd edition of the MBA IT program at Kozminski University.
Mr. Artur Zaczynski, MD - Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at the National Medical Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration in Warsaw and head of the Humanitarian-Medical Assistance Team at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland.
An experienced neurosurgeon. The clinic he successfully heads performs more than 1,600 surgeries annually, specializing in the treatment of brain and spinal cord diseases.
Alumnus of the 56th Executive MBA program at Kozminski University.
Manager Mr. Piotr Kozina - President of PSB Handel Group S.A., business leader, author of the innovative PSB PROFI business model in Poland.
Today, the PSB Handel Group, managed by Mr. Piotr, is a leading building materials distribution network. The company is not only engaged in trade activities, but also has a positive impact on social and economic development.

Mr. Tomasz Pieczyk - Co-founder and managing partner of SKP Ślusarek Kubiak Pieczyk sp. k. law firm.
Together with his partners, he runs a law firm that is dynamically developing practices in many areas of law. The firm not only supports clients, but also promotes values based on ethics and social responsibility.

Mr. Pawel Jarski - CEO of Elemental Group.
A leader in innovation and urban mining, supporting the circular economy. Managed by Mr. Pawel, Elemental Group extracts critical raw materials from used electronics, restoring them for reuse. The company has opened the region's first lithium-ion battery processing and strategic metals production plant.
He graduated with a bachelor's and master's degree in management and marketing from Kozminski University.
