Management in New Technologies
The programme is intended for:
- individuals holding a master’s degree,
- individuals interested in pursuing a doctoral degree in economic sciences (including elements from the area of new technologies and other scientific disciplines)
- individuals planning to pursue a career in research or research and development.
Given the interdisciplinary nature of the programme, there are no specific requirements regarding the expected or desired prior higher education of programme participants.
Polish science still suffers from a significant shortage of young researchers able to conduct world-class research, publish in prestigious scientific journals or, finally, able to effectively build relationships with the world of practice and business. This is particularly clear in the area of management and new technologies. Therefore, the programme aims to educate a “national team”, a narrow group of outstanding and promising scientists/researchers, who will contribute to the development of the field of management science in the future, both in Poland and abroad, thus proving the quality of Poland’s input in this area. This will create a unique opportunity for the Polish management science to develop the discipline in close symbiosis with the industry, which is a relatively new area of research (therefore, it is of interest to researchers worldwide) and which is – at the same time – a domain perfectly developed in Poland, ranked in the global top in its current shape. The programme is completely unique, not only on a national but also on a supra-regional scale (similar programmes are run in Denmark, at the IT University, and in the Netherlands, at the University of Amsterdam).
The programme aims to educate a “national team”, a narrow group of outstanding and promising scientists/researchers, who will contribute to the development of the field of management science in the future, both in Poland and abroad, thus proving the quality of Poland’s input in this area. The full-time doctoral programme designed within the framework of the project is both academic and interdisciplinary in nature. The international nature of the studies involves e.g. adopting English as the language of instruction, courses being taught by international faculty from top foreign academic institutions, enabling foreigners to take part in the process of studying, or arranging for trips abroad for doctoral students to carry out some part of their research and participate in scientific conferences.
