EDU LAB – Ecosystem of Teaching Excellence
EDU LAB – Ecosystem of Teaching Excellence
The project is financed under the European Funds for Social Development 2021–2027 programme, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus.
Goal of the project:
The goal of the project is to strengthen the teaching potential of Kozminski University through the implementation of systemic, sustainable, and integrated solutions supporting the quality of education. This includes the development of the Teaching Excellence Center (TEC), the implementation of the EDU LAB ecosystem, and personalized pathways for improving the teaching competencies of academic staff and doctoral candidates.
The project assumes the implementation of three complementary tasks:
1. EDU LAB – institutional dimension – development of the already existing Teaching Excellence Center (TEC) by expanding its competencies, equipping it with tools, and preparing it to perform a role that integrates quality-enhancement activities at Kozminski University. As part of this process, a system of teaching competencies, standards, and development tools supporting the quality of teaching will be developed.
2. EDU SYSTEM – formal dimension – ensuring the sustainability and embedding of the project results in Kozminski University’s quality assurance policy through the development and implementation of procedures, documents, and tools supporting systemic quality-enhancement solutions.
3. EDU TRACK – individual dimension, based on three pathways:
- STARTER TRACK – a pathway addressed to new teaching staff, focused on the fundamentals of course design, active learning methods, communication, and building one’s own teaching style. It provides methodological support and the opportunity to participate in training sessions (including mandatory andragogy).
- ADVANCE TRACK – a pathway addressed to experienced teaching staff, focused on developing reflectiveness, delivering transformational learning, mentoring students, and innovative adult education. It provides methodological support and access to advanced/in-depth training.
- LEADER TRACK – a pathway addressed to teaching leaders, focused on knowledge sharing, supporting others in teaching, co-creating a teaching culture, and assuming the role of community educators. It offers participation in specialized training.
Target group:
- Kozminski University as an institution
- Teaching staff (academic teachers in accordance with Article 114 of the Law on Higher Education and Science, as well as individuals delivering teaching activities regardless of the form of employment)
- Doctoral candidates
Planned results of the activities:
1. Number of higher education and research institutions supported to adapt education to the needs of economic development and the green and digital transition – 1
2. Strengthening Kozminski University’s position as an institution offering modern, reflective teaching that responds to the needs of students and the socio-economic environment.
3. Development and institutionalization of the Teaching Excellence Center (TEC) and the launch of the EDU LAB ecosystem as a sustainable mechanism supporting the quality of education.
4. Acquisition of competencies or qualifications by project participants (academic staff and doctoral candidates) in four mandatory areas: teaching, digital, green, and universal design – 80 people.
5. Quality-enhancement products and tools planned in the project:
- a system of teaching competencies and standards,
- a diagnostic chatbot and an interactive competency map,
- a methodology for Individual Teaching Development Plans (ITDP),
- a Guide to Good Teaching Practices and the EDU KOMPAS repository.
