What are Community Projects?

We at Kozminski University believe that science is created for the world and society - not for science itself. For that reason, we give our students the opportunity to change the world. We want to show how to do it, so that it is a change for the better, not for the worse.

Community Projects is a unique subject that students of our University can enrol in. The aim of Community Projects is to create synergies between the University and the social environment, combining the social impact of the University with the development of students' humanistic competences. We intend to achieve this goal by teaching wise, i.e. adequate to the needs, helping.

It is important for us that our students will be able to choose needs from various areas and fields, such as culture, entertainment, health, citizenship/civic engagement and human values, integration, migration, education, environment and community, development. If you take care of people with disabilities or in the crisis of homelessness, work in a hospice or hospital, or help refugees - tell us what you need.

The importance of Community Projects

We want to encourage our students to get involved in projects of a helping character, at the same time utilize the knowledge acquired during their studies. Further, by developing their sensitivity to the social challenges that surround them, we hope to show new horizons, responding to the challenges in building the world, and strengthening social responsibility in them.

Participation in community projects will be an opportunity to work on own’s value system, increase the level of self-awareness, as well as the possibility of playing an active-creative and not passive-reproductive role in society.

What is the cooperation about?

We invite foundations, associations and other support organizations to submit their needs. We, at Kozminski University, within the subject Community Projects, will prepare proposals for their solutions.
