cima ethics integrity and professionalism

Finally, some interesting opinions not only from CIMA representatives, but also from the CIMA Ambassador, who, just like yourselves today, once decided to join the CIMA Program.

As Jakub Bejnarowicz, Regional Director for Europe, CIMA, says, "CIMA meets the expectations of a changing world. Therefore, a professional qualification   from management accounting, CIMA is a set of competencies considered globally to be the most up-to-date in the area of finance. CIMA holders are professionals valued in the business environment, actively sought after by employers in every industry, performing important advisory functions within the organization.

According to Aleksander Gorczyca (a former CIMA Ambassador at the Cracow University of Economics and a student of the CIMA Program at the University), "This program gives students the opportunity to gain practical financial knowledge, confirm it with an international certificate, get to know personally the "top level" professionals working in business, stand out on the labor market among their colleagues in economics - which is extremely difficult these days.

So don't wait with the decision - register today at cimauczelnie.pl and remember that CIMA will provide you with an advantage, especially since your professional career will not wait until you graduate.

University Management Accounting Day 21.10.2020

University Management Accounting Day CEE. Human signals in a digital world.

On 21 October 2020 students from universities from Poland and other countries had a chance to meet for the third time as part of the University Management Accounting Day (UMAD). It was an event organised by CIMA, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, in collaboration with prestigious universities of economics.

With over 228,000 members and students in 179 countries, CIMA (The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants®) is the leading and largest organisation in the world that brings together specialists and experts in management accounting. CIMA qualifications are offered as part of CIMA & University Program and provide students with upskilling opportunities in the area of business (how to transform data into knowledge and strategy), interpersonal skills (how to communicate, make an impact, negotiate and collaborate), leadership (how to build and motivate teams and stimulate performance), and technical expertise (how to apply accounting and financial skills) - and all this while observing the highest standards of ethics, integrity and professionalism. At CIMA we follow all the current trends, hence in January 2019 we updated the syllabus to adapt it to the latest trends in the area of finance.  This allows CIMA members and students to develop their digital skills, which these days have taken a completely new role. The curriculum has been extended to include such topics as digital costing, cybersecurity, data analytics, data visualisation and data strategy. Thanks to these new areas, the CIMA syllabus is now recognised worldwide as the most up-to-date programme in the area of management accounting.

One event dedicated to students is the University Management Accounting Day CEE organised in CIMA partner universities and addressed to undergraduate and postgraduate students of finance and accounting. This event brings together students, lecturers, best CIMA's employers and employees in Poland and abroad. Attendees can learn about the role of management accounting and its importance for business.

This year, for the first time, the event was held entirely online and was attended by 200 students from such countries as: Poland, Czechia, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia, United States, Portugal, Pakistan, Hungary, Turkey, United Kingdom, Russian Federation, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, and Egypt. Participants took part in a very interesting lecture: "Human Signals: New Patterns of Behaviour and the Accounting Profession [the COVID-19 crisis]" conducted by Mr Sławomir Huss, Head of Signify Capital, Europe. Just like last year, an important part of the event was the CIMA Business Game - an interactive online competition between students from all participating universities. This time students were faced with the Mackintosh Grant case study. It was a great opportunity to solve business issues and develop some important skills. Students from Warsaw School of Economics (Poland) took first place in the business game, second place went to University of Economics in Katowice (Poland) and third to Prague College (Czechia).

If you would like to take part in the CIMA&Uni Program or CGMA Finance Leadership Program read the information on the Uni website, meet with your CIMA&Uni Program Coordinator/CIMA Ambassador or contact with CIMA directly via email: poland@aicpa-cima.com

Ambassador of CIMA at KU
Anastasiia Liaver

I am a second-year Master student of Finance and Accounting at Kozminski University. I have chosen Banking and Investment Strategies as my specialization. I aim to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the university and combine my studies with additional activities, which may help me to develop my interpersonal skills ,as well as working within international teams.

In my opinion it is important to take part in different university projects. During my Bachelor’s degree I participated in Brussels Business week, the project was about “The Beer market. Trends and challenges”. That was an amazing opportunity to work with students all over the Europe. I am into extreme sports, such as snowboarding and surfing. I have finished a surfing school in Portugal, while I was also doing an internship there. In my free time I also enjoy running, drawing and painting. CIMA is world recognizable and a highly valuable qualification on today’s financial market. Constant development in someone’s profession is a really important thing. That’s why my goal is to have a good contact with students interested in participating in CIMA’s program. I have decided to join CIMA’s organization as their Ambassador, because I strongly believe that it would be a great chance for me to gain new experience and meet a lot of interesting people.

Kseniia Tselinko

As a child, I was surrounded by talented entrepreneurs, economists and academics. I built an inevitable interest in finance, economy and management, by having a great opportunity to learn from masters of the finance field, as well as to explore the field along with them. I started my journey back in high school, where I took part in various competition for math and economy classes. I also was involved in volunteering with children, who have ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).

It was a great experience that helped me to develop problem solving and adaptability, as well as interpersonal skills. Later, at Kozminski University, where I am holding a Finance and Accounting degree, I kept shaping my career path. During my studies, I had a pleasure to be a member of the scientific group „Audytor” (English “Auditor”), ESN Kozminski, and Kozminski International Society.

Besides finance, I am interested in music and sports. At the age of 10, I explored my passion for piano, which I continuously develop. Thanks to my very active, dynamic and loving family, I developed a love for sports, especially skiing, which is much-beloved sport among all family members. Also, learning foreign languages is one of my hobbies, which I developed as a mentor for international students at Kozminski University.

This year I have a pleasure to join CIMA global community as a CIMA ambassador at Kozminski University in Warsaw, Poland. It is an honour to represent and promote the world’s leading qualification, The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
