Accommodation

- Apartment (2+ rooms) ~ from 3000 PLN/month
A refundable deposit for your accommodation, usually in amount of 1 months’ rent, is required when signing the rent agreement.
Remember that in some cases utilities (gas, water, electricity) are paid separately from the rent. This will be stated in the rent contract. The utilities can amount to around 400-900 PLN per month.

- Milk 1L ~ 3,20 PLN

Transportation
- City travel card for students valid for 1 month/3 months = 55/140 PLN
- Single fare ticket = 3,40 PLN
- Taxi fee = 8 PLN starting fee + 3 PLN per kilometre
- City bikes “Veturillo” = 10 PLN starting fee + fee per hour
- Electric scooters = Bolt 0 starting fee + 0,89 PLN per minute
- Car sharing = around 200 PLN per 100 kilometres/60 PLN per day
- Train to other major cities in Poland (student’s ticket) = 50-90 PLN
- Gasoline = 6,60 PLN/litre

Entertainment
Polish mobile SIM card = 20-30 PLN/month
- Gym = unlimited entry from 150 PLN/month
- Cinema ticket = 25-40 PLN
- Theatre ticket = around 100 PLN
- Museum ticket = around 25 PLN
- Night Club entry = 20-30 PLN

A reasonable monthly budget would be around 3500 - 4000 PLN, including only necessities. A lot depends on your spending on accommodation and your lifestyle. To that budget you have to add the tuition and other extra expenses, like holidays and returning home for summer. Remember that unexpected expenditures might include purchase of things like bed sheets, cooking utensils or winter clothing.
Please note, that students in Poland are often offered various discounts – in transportation, theatres and cinemas, museums. Always remember to carry and present your student card, as this is the condition of receiving the discount.
