Sports at Kozminski - students with disabilities

At KU, keeping in mind the needs of all students and knowing how important sport is in everyone’s life, we have adapted our offering of sports activities to the needs of people with disabilities.

This includes training our staff accordingly (our coaches have completed a course for instructors of physical education for people with disabilities), a well-adapted sports infrastructure, and a broad range of inclusive activities such as: chess, bridge, Nordic Walking, gym, or boccia. This last discipline is the most popular among people with disabilities, and involves landing special soft balls – called boules – as close as possible to a specific target (a white ball – called jack). Balls may be brought to the field in any manner. It is possible to make use of throws, kicks, support ramps – or the help of assistants.

Players can either stand or sit. This enables people with mobility impairments – and even cerebral palsy – to play the game.
