HELPING HAND Peer Support Program
HELPING HAND Peer Support Program
We believe no one should have to face difficulties alone.
Initiated by the Accessibility and Wellbeing Office, HELPING HAND is a student-led initiative designed to provide peer support. We wanted to make sure that no one in our community is left on their own. The idea behind the program is to create a group of student ambassadors who, on a day-to-day basis, not only help fellow students adjust to university life, cope with academic challenges, and receive initial emotional support, but also contribute to building a kind and supportive academic community.
What is HELPING HAND?
The program is based on the idea of peer support—students supporting students. Trained student volunteers:
- offer a safe and confidential conversation on any topic,
- help you navigate university life,
- share experience and practical tips,
- direct you to available professional support when needed.
Helping Hand does not replace professional psychological support. Instead, it provides a first, easily accessible, and informal point of support.
Who is it for?
The program is open to any student who may need support. Whether you feel lost, are struggling with organizing your studies, or simply want to talk things through, your peers from the HELPING HAND program can help you adjust within the academic community.
Our Volunteers
a third-year Law student. I am particularly interested in civil law and issues related to the protection of individual rights. As part of the HELPING HAND ambassador program, I co-create and develop an initiative aimed at building a culture of mutual support, accessibility, and open communication within the academic community. It is important for me that every student genuinely feels they can count on help and kindness at the University. I believe that studying is not only about gaining knowledge, but also about taking responsibility for building a community based on solidarity and engagement.

My name is Hanna Kręt, I’m 22 and I study Law, but people and their stories matter most to me. Sport is my passion and I love supporting others just as much. That’s why I co-created HELPING HAND - our University’s peer support program. I believe we can do great things together - when it comes to studying, everyday matters, and making sure no one feels alone. Want to talk or join us? Reach out to me on University MS Teams!
Hi, I’m Gabi! I’m a third-year student of Management and Business Psychology. Professionally, I work in marketing and PR, especially in the area of brand building. For the second year in a row, I’ve been active in our Student Council and helping in organizing events and supporting collaboration between the Student Council and University offices. I like an active lifestyle, and taking care of my mental wellbeing is very important to me. I usually do that through movement like yoga or Pilates, or spending time in nature. I value also various relaxation techniques and I believe everyday wellbeing can be supported through simple, natural habits. In my free time, I spend time with my loved ones: family and friends - because relationships are the most important part of life for me.
I’m open to people and I enjoy being support for others, because I know everyone goes through tougher moments sometimes and even a small gesture can make a real difference.
My name is Łukasz Żabicki and I’m a third-year Economics student. I joined HELPING HAND because I genuinely like helping others and sharing my experience. I’m an open person and I believe mutual support is the key to a calmer, more positive student experience. If you have a problem at the University or outside of it, I’ll be glad to help.
I decided to join the student peer support program because I want to be actively involved in our academic community. I believe that mutual support between students is one of the most effective ways to deal with everyday challenges related to studying. I have experience balancing a very tight schedule with studying, so I’m happy to share practical methods for good organisation. I want to support others in planning their responsibilities, so that no one has to give up their passions because of difficulties at University.
I see my participation in the program as an opportunity to build lasting relations and provide real support to other students in their day-to-day challenges. My goal is to help others maintain a healthy balance between studying and personal interests, which often makes better results and greater satisfaction with student life. I believe that working together and sharing experience can help all of us move through each stage of education more smoothly.

My name is Franciszek Leśny and I study two programs: Law and Finance & Accounting. I’m actively involved in student life, also as a HELPING HAND volunteer, in Welcome Point (Outside Events section), and a board member of the Tax Law Student Club.
Before starting my studies, I trained triathlon professionally for four years in my hometown and achieved highest results across Poland. At the same time, I manage the accounting for family foundation by supporting my family and implementing advanced tax optimization as well. In my spare time, I pursue a few smaller passions. For example model-making, sports, diving, and theatre - I’m a huge fan of this form of art <3
I’m an extrovert and I’ve always been interested in people’s positive as well as dark sides. I’m in HELPING HAND because I want to support students with everyday difficulties - especially at a time when loneliness is becoming a serious issue. I have experience in this matter, so you can count on my understanding.
Feel free to drop by the Accessibility and Wellbeing Office if you’d like to talk something through 😊
I prefer to be contacted via MS Teams or in person on campus
