Entrepreneurship in Creative Industries
The main objective of the Entrepreneurship in Creative Industries project was to facilitate the start-up and running of companies for one hundred people intending to establish a business in the Warsaw Metropolitan Area (Warsaw and 71 surrounding municipalities). The newly established companies focused in their activity on the creative sector. The project involved supporting e.g. graduates of art schools, people with disabilities, and people aged over 45 becoming business-active. The goal was achieved through training, specialist consulting sessions, and financial support provided to the above groups.
Thanks to the implementation of the project, individuals involved in e.g. architecture, antiques, art market, computer games, handicraft, industrial design, fashion design, film, music, theatre, or publishing were enabled to launch and operate a business in the creative sector.
The project also contributed to stimulating the development of new, dynamically developing companies from the so-called creative industries. Companies operating in these industries play an important role in stimulating the development of other innovative sectors of the economy. They also play an increasingly important part in the creation of high-paid jobs and are a significant group of taxpayers in urban areas. Therefore, supporting the development of such companies is currently one of the most important initiatives for economic development and improvement of the quality of life of inhabitants of regions and metropolises. The outcome of the consulting activities taking place within the framework of the project was a group of companies working with each other in the spirit of partnership and support, a well-integrated group of entrepreneurs and artists, who founded the ProKreatni association. A kind of cluster was born, bringing together talents, knowledge, and skills of people who had a chance to get to know each other thanks to the project.
