Accessible - Open - Creative PLUS

The project is funded under the European Funds for Social Development program 2021-2027, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus.

Project Objective
The aim of the project is to increase the accessibility of Kozminski University for people with special needs and people with disabilities studying, working, cooperating or using the University's offer, taking into account all aspects of its functioning, through comprehensive activities in 8 areas:
1. Organizational structure
- Establishment of an Accessibility Office and supporting bodies.
2. architectural accessibility
- Modernization of architectural infrastructure, including, among others, expansion of the security system, renewal of ramps, elimination of thresholds, purchase of an acoustic box
3. information and communication accessibility
- Preparation of a website of the Accessibility Office, presenting the accessibility of information and communication facilities and technologies of ALK. There will be a catalog of forms of support or individual adaptations for the ALK community.
4. Digital Accessibility
- Implementation of a platform offering advanced digital and educational accessibility and supporting various forms of learning activities
5. Technology
- Implementation of a platform to provide comprehensive event management and improve the accessibility of equipment used in the education and research process
6. Procedures
- Analysis, development, implementation, and updating of the University's regulations on accessibility
7. Education Support Services
- Introduction of comprehensive services to support the education of people with special needs and people with disabilities, such as psychological support and a system for creating teaching materials.
8. Disability Awareness Awareness Activities
- Implementation of training courses to raise awareness and competence of university staff in supporting people with special needs and people with disabilities.

Target Group
- Employees/employees of the university: management, teaching, administrative staff.
- Representatives/representatives of student government and doctoral students.
- University: Leon Kozminski University - community and premises and digital infrastructure.
Results of planned activities:
1. Number of higher education and science entities that have implemented solutions to improve accessibility for people with disabilities - 1
2. Raise disability awareness: 119 staff and 18 students and doctoral students will increase their awareness of disability.
3. Accessibility Strategy: the KU Accessibility Strategy for 2025-2028 will be updated and implemented, providing long-term support for people with special needs.
4. Improvement of infrastructure and systems: the project envisages, among other things, the elimination of architectural barriers, the implementation of alarm systems, the creation of a soundproofing room, the adaptation of IT systems to the WCAG standard and the implementation of a platform for remote learning.
5. Development of the educational support system: creation of a catalog of forms of support, procedures for requesting and granting support.
6. Caring for well-being: providing psychological support to the University community and organizing well-being events.

We would like to inform you of the possibility to report any suspicions of non-compliance of the Project or Beneficiary's actions with the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, adopted in New York on December 13, 2006 (Journal of Laws of 2012, item 1169, as amended), hereinafter referred to as "CRPD." Reports, notifications, or complaints regarding non-compliance of FERS projects with the provisions of the CRPD can be submitted by individuals (project participants or their proxies and representatives), institutions involved in the implementation of European Union funds, or social parties (associations, foundations) using (each of the following cases is considered a written submission):
