Prof. Musawenkosi Donia Saurombe is an Associate Professor at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) in South Africa. She holds a PhD in Industrial Psychology, with her research speciality broadly focusing on talent management, including aspects of academic talent, the psychological contract, skilled labour migration, women representation and employee wellbeing. Musa previously worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the North-West University Mafikeng from 2017, became a Senior Lecturer at the University of the Free State in 2019, then joined UJ in 2021. She also became a visiting scholar at Kozminski University in Warsaw, Poland in 2025.
So far, Musa has supervised three doctoral, 12 master’s and 19 honours research studies to completion. She has also published over 30 scholarly research outputs in both local and international journals. Among other recognitions, Musa received the Young Alumnus Award from the North-West University, South Africa in 2023 as well as a South African National Research Foundation (NRF)-rating in 2024 and subsequently won the Early Career/Emerging Researcher award at the 2025 NRF Research Excellence Awards in August 2025. She further serves on the Editorial Boards of the American Psychological Association (APA) Journal of Experimental Psychology: General, PLOS One, and Sage Open.
