About the program
About the program
Purpose of the program
In capital markets, corporate transactions, investment decisions, and strategic transformations, one question ultimately dominates:
What is the company worth and how can its value be increased?
Corporate Valuation and Shareholder Value Creation is a comprehensive postgraduate program designed for professionals who want to master the logic, methodology, and practical execution of business valuation and value-based management.
This program goes far beyond technical valuation formulas. It develops a structured understanding of how value is created, protected, measured, and communicated — in both operational and transactional contexts.
Participants learn how valuation models interact with strategy, risk, financial structure, and governance. They acquire the analytical discipline required to perform complex valuation projects and to make decisions that enhance shareholder value.
The program prepares participants to:
- conduct comprehensive company and project valuations for various purposes,
- apply principles of Value-Based Management (VBM) in strategic and operational decision-making,
- integrate financial modelling with investment and corporate finance analysis,
- evaluate risk and incorporate it properly into valuation frameworks,
- design and assess M&A transactions from a valuation and value-creation perspective,
- prepare valuation reports and advisory recommendations.

Program
The Corporate Valuation and Shareholder Value Creation program is structured in three connected components:
- Core Knowledge in Valuation and Value-Based Management
- Complex Cases in Valuation and Investment Project Appraisal
- Final Valuation Project
The first part of the program provides a comprehensive and coherent body of knowledge required to perform professional valuation and to apply value-based management principles in practice.
This block consists of integrated modules covering:
- Integration Session
- Intro to the Program: Tenets of Value-Based Management
- Essentials of Financial Mathematics for Valuation
- Financial Reporting and Financial Statement Analysis
- Financial Modelling and Refresher in Corporate Finance
- Investment Project Analysis
- Corporate Valuation: Income-Based Models, Key Value Drivers, Discounts and Premia, and Principles of Shareholder Value Maximization
- Corporate Valuation: Multiples and Asset-Based Valuation
- Risk Management and Its Role in Preserving and Creating Shareholder Value
- Mergers and Acquisitions: Strategic Dimension and Financial Modelling
By the end of this block, participants possess all the technical and conceptual competencies necessary to conduct full valuation assignments.
The second component of the program consists of 28 hours dedicated to Complex Cases and Problems Around Valuation and Investment Project Appraisal.
The cases are designed as non-trivial valuation assignments. They are not clean, textbook-style exercises with perfectly defined parameters. Instead, they reflect situations where:
- assumptions are contestable,
- financial projections are uncertain or biased,
- regulatory, transactional, or governance issues influence valuation outcomes,
- risk factors are difficult to quantify,
- methodological choices materially affect the final valuation.
Some cases contain undercurrents - structural tensions or inconsistencies that require participants to look beyond formulas. The challenge is not merely to apply a model, but to diagnose what is problematic in the modelling itself, to question assumptions, and to design an analytically defensible approach in the face of ambiguity and accountability for valuation results.
The program culminates in the preparation of a Final Valuation Project.
This capstone component requires participants to conduct a comprehensive valuation assignment. The project typically involves:
- defining the valuation objective and context,
- collecting and structuring relevant financial and market data,
- building a financial model,
- selecting and justifying valuation methodologies,
- determining discount rates and risk adjustments,
- conducting sensitivity and scenario analysis,
- interpreting results in light of strategic and financial considerations.
The project is prepared under academic supervision and must meet professional standards expected in valuation practice. Upon completion, participants are required to defend their valuation project before apanel.
The defense includes presentation of findings, justification of assumptions, explanation of modelling choices, and response to questions.
This final stage ensures that graduates are not only capable of building valuation models, but also of explaining and defending their conclusions in a professional setting — a core competence in advisory, corporate finance, and transaction environments.

Organization of Classes
The program takes two semesters to complete.
Hybrid Learning Experience
Classes conducted in a hybrid format take place in specially equipped hybrid classrooms that allow participants to attend either in person on campus or online, while taking part in the same live session. The classrooms are equipped with cameras, microphones, and streaming technology that capture the instructor and the classroom environment in real time.
Participants who prefer the on-campus experience can attend the session in the classroom, interacting directly with the instructor and fellow participants. Those joining remotely connect to the same live class online and can actively participate by asking questions, engaging in discussions, and interacting with the instructor in real time.
The key advantage of the hybrid format is flexibility. Participants can choose the mode of participation that best fits their schedule and circumstances - attending classes on campus when convenient or joining online from home, from work, or from abroad. The format also allows participants to easily switch between modes when needed, for example due to travel, unexpected commitments, or personal preference.
Lectures take place once or twice per month:
- one class per week is held on a weekday - Monday to Thursday 5.30 p.m. – 8.45 p.m. (online)
- Fridays 5.30 p.m. - 8.45 p.m. (hybrid format or fully online depending on organizational arrangements)
- Saturdays 8.45 a.m. - 3.45 p.m. (hybrid format)
This structure allows participants to combine professional responsibilities with intensive postgraduate education.
