The Financial Times daily has just released the list of 100 best master in management programs, chosen from 13,500 business universities in the world. Among them, there are two universities from Poland: Kozminski University, which took 42nd place and the Warsaw School of Economics, which came in 58th position, and also 5 other business schools from Central and Eastern Europe.
The Financial Times’ educational rankings are based on its own surveys carried out among graduates who finished schools three years ago. Four years ago, KU was left by an exceptionally successful year, and graduates' professional careers, measured by salaries and promotions, allowed the university to jump to the high 20th position in the "FT" ranking. In previous editions of this ranking, KU took 42nd place, as this year, so KU has just returned to its former spot.
- Our position shows that we can be ranked higher and fight for a better place in the rankings, but we must try harder and constantly spur the professional ambitions of our students – says prof. Witold Bielecki, rector of KU. ¬ Being recognized as the best university educating in the field of management in Poland is certainly flattering, but it should not fully satisfy us, because the management education is really a global phenomenon today. People from 70 countries come to study here, half of our management students are foreigners. They can choose any university in the world. The choice of KU is largely determined by our high position in this ranking, but also by the good quality of life in Warsaw compared to other academic cities in Europe.
Among the 17 evaluation criteria assessed by FT, one of the key factors is progress in the professional careers of graduates. In this respect, ALK fares very well taking 7th place in the world.
In addition there are also KU's foreign partners. For examples KU runs a program implemented jointly with ESCP Europe which took 5th place in the ranking.
