Close to ten thousand Kozminski University community members begin a new academic year

Two thousand new first year students will start their education today at Kozminski University(KU). Throughout them there are over 400 international students, which means that there are 10% more international students than last year.

From the very beginning KU set an importance when it comes to internationalization. At KU you can go through an entire educational cycle – from the bachelor (undergraduate) level to master’s, post graduate and doctoral program with virtually no knowledge of the Polish language as these classes are all conducted in English. The faculty and administrative staff ensure that there are minimal language barriers for international students and the multicultural environment is conductive to tolerance and a better understanding of the modern business world.

KU has built a  good reputation by gaining international accreditations thus confirming the high quality of education. Currently, KU is the only university in Poland that has the EQUIS, CEEMAN, AMBA and AACSB accreditations. The teaching achievements and exemplary research by KU was mentioned by prof. Lena Kolarska-Bobinska, the Minister of Science and Higher Education.

The greatest value that KU has developed over the last 21 years is its alumni. Every day KU receives information that its graduates are receiving promotions to higher position or about their business achievements led by their respective companies. The total number of alumni which hold a KU diploma is over 50 000, where nearly 18 000 are graduates from the postgraduate level and MBA programs.

“Kozminski University is not just a University, it’s a whole system that shapes us (the students) as future managers, lawyers and simply as human beings,” believes Mateusz Krajewski – Student Council President. He additionally mentions that students can participate in sports (even on a national level), language learning, choir, scientific circles, general university life and most of all networking.

This year’s inauguration ceremony for the 2014/2015 academic year was graced with two events. The first being a lecture by prof. Grzegorz W. Kolodko, “A quarter-century of transformation: Could it have been better?” And the other being a photo exhibition by Boguslaw Kott, the longtime president of Millenium bank and currently the chairman of the supervisory board of the bank.
