The postgraduate program ‘Mergers and Acquisitions, Private Equity/Venture Capital in Central Europe’ resulted from a prolific cooperation between the faculty of Kozminski Executive Business School and the members of CFA Society Poland, who are ready to share first-hand experience in planning, structuring, negotiating and executing M&A/PE/VC deals on the Central-European market. The program inquires into the financial, legal and organizational aspects of M&A/PE/VC transactions and aims at providing the participants with knowledge and skills essential for a successful deal completion within the settings of dynamically growing Central-European market. The program curriculum features advanced tutorials in financial analysis and corporate valuation, comprehensive coverage of the current trends and regulatory changes operating on the CE market, in-depth discussion of the key success factors in M&A/PE/VC deals.

The postgraduate program ‘Mergers and Acquisitions, Private Equity/Venture Capital in Central Europe’ is an intensive one-year postgraduate program offered by Kozminski Executive Business School in cooperation with CFA Society Poland. The program represents a comprehensive roadmap for carrying out M&A/PE/VC investments on the Central-European market. The program comprises 170 academic hours of immersive workshops allowing the participants to train the most relevant analytical techniques and acquire a broad understanding of the trends and regulatory changes shaping the dynamics of the industry.

The program is primarily targeted at corporate executives, PE/VC fund managers and financial advisors/analysts/consultants involved in planning/structuring/execution of M&A/PE/VC transactions.

The program curriculum consists of five thematically related blocks. Each block comprises 4-7 monothematic modules. The study of every block ends with a group project (case study) covering the contents of the block. Additionally, active participation of the students during classes is obligatory. All courses are accompanied with the material for participants’ self-study, representing mostly additional cases and practical exercises, which expand the topics covered during workshops. The program ends with a final project (case study) prepared under the supervision of a faculty member during the project seminar.
President of CFA Society Poland, Professor of Economic Sciences at Wroclaw University of Economics (title given by the President of Poland in 1992), Head of Finance Management Institute. He is member in scientific and professional organizations: Chairman of Executive Board of Committee of Statistics and Econometrics of Polish Academy of Sciences, Member of Executive Board of Committee of Financial Sciences of Polish Academy of Sciences , Vice-chairman of Executive Board of Committee of Economic Sciences of Polish Academy of Sciences. His research interests are: financial markets and instruments, risk management, corporate finance, real estate, insurance and quantitative methods (econometrics, statistics).He was a member of the Scientific Council of the National Bank of Poland and a member of the Supervisory Board of Warsaw Stock Exchange.
Dr hab. Paweł Mielcarz is an associate professor at the Department of Finance at Kozminski University. His consulting experience covers corporate and minority stake valuation, M&A, controlling systems development and implementation, capital budgeting, real options valuation and value-based management. He has published a number of papers in the area of corporate finance and valuation, including articles in Emerging Markets Review, Managerial Finance and Economic Research (Ekonomska Istraživanja). He was appointed program director for the Financial Controller, Financial Management and MBA in Finance programs at Kozminski University. Paweł Mielcarz has also taught at several European business schools and universities.
Vice-president of CFA Society Poland, lecturer at Kozminski University. During his over 18 -years of experience in financial industry managed assets (especially in Central Eastern Europe) and investment companies including mutual fund managers, pension funds asset managers and a brokerage house.. , especially in management of assets in Central and Eastern Europe and investment companies management. As CIO of Trigon Group - Polish Boutique Investment Bank (2010-2012) he built and developed asset management and mutual funds business. He managed the leading asset management team in Poland (No. 1 results among all asset managers of individual accounts in 2011 according to ranking of Polish financial newspaper – Parkiet Daily) CIO and CEO, Pocztylion-Arka (2007-2010) – a $1bn Pension Fund, a joint venture with Invesco Group – managing the balanced fund with over 40% invested in equities. In 2008 the fund ranked third in a peer group of 15 pension funds in Poland and consistently beat its benchmark. As Portfolio Manager in SEB Investment Management (2005-2007) managed Polish and international investment funds, including one of the biggest regional equity funds from Central and Eastern Europe, investing mainly in Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Russia, Baltics, Romania, Turkey, Russia and Kazakhstan for Swedish, German and Baltic countries clients Graduated from Warsaw University (Faculty of Law and Administration) and Warsaw School of Economics (Faculty of Banking and Finance) and received his Ph.D. in Economics from Warsaw School of Economics.
Piotr Polanowski is responsible for managing corporate finance transactions in both the public and private market, equity and debt financing, equity and asset valuations, restructuring, financial analysis and due diligence within transaction processes. He holds the title of Chartered Financial Analyst, and is the Vice President of the CFA Society Poland. He participates in domestic and international arbitrage disputes and court proceedings as an expert witness in financial analysis and valuation of companies. Piotr Polanowski has been engaged in the corporate finance advisory and investment banking since 2000, including: Deloitte & Touche CE – tax & legal due diligence department, Trigon Capital AS, FinCo Group S.A., DELTA Capital Group Sp. z o.o. , currently Synerga+ S.A. Piotr specializes in the energy sector, heavy industry, financial and technological sectors. His market experience includes numerous projects in the scope of: public and private offerings, buy-side and sell-side transactions (including privatizations), due diligence, financial modelling and valuations, restructuring plans and forensic analysis. He has graduated from the University of London, King’s College London, BSc Business Management and Warsaw School of Economics, MSc Finance and Banking. He speaks fluently in English and French.
Technology entrepreneur and investor focused on Fintech Industry. He is a Managing Partner and CEO of Data Ventures - big data/fintech specialised venture capital fund. In 2012 he co-founded and served for 5 years as CEO at Turbine Analytics - leading SaaS for capital market industry in CEE. Before he worked as an investment analyst in a public exchange listed private equity fund NFI Midas S.A. Piotr graduated from Warsaw School of Economics (Finance and Accounting) and Stanford Graduate School of Business (EPGC).
Annemarie is an Investment Manager with the Polish Development Fund group, where she is responsible for investments in the Private Equity funds and international relations.
Prior to her current role, Annemarie spent six years working at the BNP Paribas group in London - in its Asset Management arm and at the Investment Bank.
Annemarie holds a Masters degree in Strategic Management from Kozminski University.
Head of Credit Suisse in Warsaw
Aneta Kocemba-Muchowicz is a Director at Credit Suisse and a Head of Credit Suisse office in Warsaw.
Aneta joined Credit Suisse in 2008 and has held a variety of leadership roles within Investment Banking and Capital Markets over the years. Between 2012 – 2016 she was the Head of Investment Banking for Poland and Central & Eastern Europe, responsible for the origination and execution of investment banking transactions in the region.
Before joining Credit Suisse Aneta worked for Citi and CAIB.
In her current role she is responsible for the Warsaw office operations and for driving the implementation of the
global Credit Suisse strategy and vision in Warsaw.
With more than15 years of experience in investment banking across the CEE region, Aneta has a well-established understanding of the Polish and CEE markets with in-depth knowledge of capital markets as well as corporate and regulatory requirements.
Aneta holds a Master of Science with distinction in Finance and Banking from the Warsaw University and an executive MBA from the University of Technology in Warsaw in coordination with the London Business School, the HEC School of Management (Paris) and the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (Berge).
