Visegrad Scholarship Program
The Visegrad Scholarship Program is an initiative that supports international academic exchange by providing funding for master's and post-master's (doctoral and research) students who want to study or conduct research in the V4 countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) and selected countries outside the V4. The program covers universities and research institutes in these countries and aims to promote the development of regional academic cooperation. More information: Visegrad Scholarships
Application Conditions:
Scholarships are available for citizens of V4 countries who wish to study in other V4 countries, as well as for citizens of Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Ukraine, who wish to study in V4 countries.
The scholarships are awarded to students at the master's level (MA or equivalent) or post-master's level. At least 6 semesters of higher education must be completed.
The scholarships cover 1-2 semesters (5 months) of full-time studies or post-master's research. The scholarship amount is €3,000 per semester. The host institution receives an additional €1,500 per semester. The program does not cover visa fees, health insurance, accommodation, or travel costs.
There is no requirement to study in English. The language of instruction depends on the host institution’s offer, and applicants are not required to provide language certificates.
Required Documents
- Scans of valid identification documents, transcripts from the last two semesters of studies, and a letter of acceptance from the host university (or proof of application if the decision has not yet been made).
- For post-master's studies, a letter of acceptance along with a detailed work plan is required.
Application Process
Applications must be submitted online through the My Visegrad system by April 15. Each applicant can submit only one application for one program/scholarship in a given period. The scholarship may start in September or October, after the results are announced (May/June).
Important Information
- The scholar may not change the host university or institution during the scholarship period.
- The program does not cover tuition fees unless these fees exceed the established amount of €1,500, in which case the scholar is responsible for covering the difference.
- The Fund does not handle visa, insurance, or accommodation arrangements, but can issue a certificate confirming the scholarship award, which can be used for visa applications.
The Visegrad Scholarship Program is an excellent opportunity for students and researchers from V4 countries and selected countries outside this region to develop their skills and knowledge in an international academic environment.
