Round table "European Integration of Ukraine: Building Future and Reconstruction of Ukraine"

The kick off meeting of the “New Dawn” initiative has taken place on April 13, 2022 and has started a series of round tables on European integration of Ukraine and its future reconstruction.

This initiative is co-organized by Kozminski University,  iSEE (Institute for Socio-Economic Enquiry), New Europeans, and Media Dialoge. Among the key-note speakers were dr. Olha Zadorozhna (Kozminski University), Roger Casale (New Europeans) and Lina Kushch (Media Dialoge) who discussed the current costs of war in Ukraine, its economic and humanitarian consequences, the importance of professional war journalism, and appropriate wording of transmitted messages. Moreover, political scientists, sociologists, economists, business owners, and business consultants took part in the meeting and shared their valuable thought on the reconstruction of Ukraine and the way the “New Dawn” initiative can support Ukraine in its integration to the EU. The main goals of the initiative include:

  • creating a strong advocacy group for Ukraine to become a European member state as soon as possible
  • collecting best practices from already member states about institutional development and harmonisation of legal environment
  • creating groups of experts that can help with reconstruction of Ukraine, especially concerning resilience of enterprises, reconstruction of insfrustructure, efficient urban development and planning, and environmental issues.

The next round tables will take place at the end of April and then – mid-May.
