Prof. Dariusz Jemielniak to become Vice-President of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences has entrusted Professor Dariusz Jemielniak, an employee of Kozminski University and head of the Management In Networked and Digital Societies (MINDS) department, with the position of its Vice-President. Professor Jemielniak is a correspondent member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, conducts ethnographic research on the Internet at Harvard University, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation. Prof. Jemielniak's books and publications provide scholarly analysis of social behavior toward new information technologies, artificial intelligence, and Big Data. Most recently, he has been leading a research project on online disinformation spread by those who question climate change or the usefulness of medical therapies, including population-based vaccinations. We congratulate Prof. Jemielniak on his election to the authorities of Poland's most important scientific organization.
