About the studies
Basic information
Our Master in Big Data Science program is a two-year intensive program conducted in English. The program aims to prepare students to work on Big Data, AI, and Machine Learning, primarily in Finance and Health Economics and secondly in other industries. Specifically, students gain deep and extensive knowledge of the most advanced data collection techniques, data analysis, machine learning, and - more broadly - AI.
Our Big Data Science program is offered full-time in the evening hours (17:00-21:00), making it ideal for students who want to work and study simultaneously. Students can choose between two majors: Data Analytics and Health Economics & Big Data Analytics. Additionally, all students gain expertise in entrepreneurship, venture capital, and cloud computing, ensuring they are not only ready for analytical roles but also equipped to become leaders and innovators in tech-driven industries.
Program highlights
Since the first semester, students can gain advanced theoretical knowledge in mathematics and statistics. More importantly, they learn to apply this knowledge through intensive hands-on tutorials and seminars right from the beginning of their studies. Our top-performing students are frequently recruited by major multinational enterprises, global banks, and leading consulting firms. Many of our alumni now hold senior management positions at organizations such as Standard Chartered, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Accenture and Oracle.
During their studies, students develop proficiency in programming languages such as R and Python, as well as cloud technologies like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and the Google Cloud Platform. Furthermore, they gain access to renowned training platforms, including Amazon AWS Academy, Bloomberg for Education, GitHub for Education. Finally, our students receive discount vouchers to support their efforts in pursuing and passing Microsoft or Amazon certification exams.
The Polish labor market features a high demand for Machine Learning Engineers, AI Engineers, Quants, Financial Data Analysts, and many other positions in IT, Finance, and Healthcare. The HEBDA study track is intended for both Polish and international students, reflecting the global nature of contemporary challenges in healthcare. Classes have a distinctly practical focus: students not only learn theory but also work with case studies and real-world data from healthcare systems around the world. Over the course of the programme, participants gain hands-on experience with the tools and methods used by professional health economists and data scientists, including statistical software, programming for data analysis, economic modelling techniques, and data visualisation. This strong practical orientation ensures that graduates are prepared to take up positions requiring data-driven decision-making in health policy, management, strategy, or innovation.

Student testimonials
Alumni's reviews of the program
As a part of my Master degree, I was lucky enough to be selected for a project with Goldman Sachs. Currently, I am working with the Risk Department which mainly focuses on preventing the company from losing money, rather than making money for it.
I came to Warsaw looking for a practical and solid education in the field of Big Data. Being confident that this field is the hottest professional path I could envision for myself, I selected Kozminski to get it started. At the University, I have the great opportunity not only to obtain practical knowledge from lecturers but also to collaborate on a weekly basis with Goldman Sachs on building a financial predictive model. This project is just the cherry on the top of the cake that makes my academic life exciting, challenging and that also will get my career started in Warsaw or elsewhere in the world with just the right set of skills needed in this industry.
