Professor Krzysztof Jackowicz graduated from the SGH Warsaw School of Economics. From the beginning of his academic career in 1995, he worked with Kozminski University, where he went through the whole academic path from a teaching assistant to a Professor of Economics. He gained professorship in 2014 from the President of the Republic of Poland, Bronisław Komorowski. He lectures on financial subjects for bachelor, master, and doctoral students. He is a member of the Scientific Council for economics and finances, Doctoral Studies Council, Committee for academic teachers awards, and the Chairman of the Committee for Doctoral Degree Conferral Procedure. Since 2005, he has supervised ten graduate candidates, many of whom successfully continue their careers at various universities. He has headed research teams that implement projects financed by Poland’s State Committee for Scientific Research and the National Science Centre: “Powiązania polityczne. Wartość dla przedsiębiorstw i znaczenie ogólnogospodarcze. Perspektywa międzynarodowa” (Political Connections: Their Value to Enterprises, and General Economic Meaning. An International Perspective); “Decyzje lokalizacyjne dotyczące placówek bankowych – konsekwencje dla banków i lokalnej aktywności gospodarczej” (Bank Branches Location Decisions: Consequences for Banks and Local Economic Activity); “Wpływ lokalnych struktur rynku bankowego na finansowanie małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw” (The Influence of Local Structures of Bank Market on the Financing of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises); “Dyscyplina deponencka a sytuacja finansowa państw” (Depositor Discipline and States’ Financial Situation); “Zachowania deponentów w krajach Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej w okresie kryzysu” (Depositors’ Behavior in Central and Eastern European Countries During Crises); “Koncentracja sektora bankowego” (Banking Sector Concentration). Moreover, in 2016–2019, Professor Jackowicz was a member of the Committee on Financial Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He won this Committee’s award for his book Czynniki polityczne w bankowości. Ujęcie empiryczne (Political Factors in Banking: An Empirical Approach). Professor Jackowicz’s scientific interests focus on the role of political factors in finances, market discipline in banking, financing of enterprises, and recently also the role of cultural dimensions in finances. His research has resulted in nearly 120 scientific publications. Twenty-five of these publications appeared in high impact factor journals, also in the world’s leading journals such as Journal of Banking and Finance (three publications), Journal of Financial Stability (two publications), Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Financial Services Research, Regional Studies, and Emerging Markets Review (four publications). Moreover, his research results were presented at many prestigious international conferences.
