Career in Private Equity Industry

Dear Students, Graduates, and Friends of Kozminski University, we would like to invite you for another inspirational meeting with experts from Level20, which is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving gender diversity in the European private equity industry, who are willing to share their knowledge with our community. Join our experts for the "Career in Private Equity Industry" inspirational meeting!

During the meeting, you will gain information about the career path in the private equity industry and listen to the handy hints about how to enter the profession. In particular, the goal of the training is to encourage and motivate female students to join investment teams. The participants will have a chance to meet PE investment practitioners and listen to their career journeys.

Our special guests:

Agnieszka Pakulska

Agnieszka has been part of the Avallon team since 2006. She sits on the Supervisory Boards of the fund's portfolio companies. She was responsible for managing many transactions, including development of Velvet, Good Food and MPS International companies, in which she managed to bring growth that was much greater than investors had anticipated. Her previous projects mainly centred around the B2C and FMCG sectors. Agnieszka graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Sociology at the University of Łódź, and completed postgraduate studies in finance, accounting and capital investments.

Izabela Ciąćka

Izabela Ciąćka has been part of the Avallon team since the beginning of 2016. She is now an Investment Manager. She started her career by being involved in accounting, financial analysis, valuation and securities issue projects. She gained her experience in the Analyses and Rating Department of Online Analyses S.A. as a Junior Analyst, as well as in the financial risk management department of EY, and the investment banking team of Bastion Group. She holds a Master's degree from the Warsaw School of Economics and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Economics in Wrocław - Finance and Accounting.

Monika Nachyla

Monika joined Abris in 2017 as a Partner responsible for Investor Relations, communication, and ESG. She brings 25 years of international C-suite experience in finance, private equity, banking, investor relations, management, strategy, and development. At Abris, Monika is a member of the Abris Partners’ Board, Investment Committee, and she is chairing the Corporate Governance Committee. She contributed materially to developing and implementing of Abris ESG strategy, which is focusing on managing portfolio risks and creating shareholder’s value. Before joining Abris, Monika was active as a non-executive director, serving on multiple supervisory boards of large companies and publicly listed corporations. Previous private equity experience includes Innova Capital, where she supervised both Portfolio Management & Fund Operations and Enterprise Investors, where she was in charge of Investor Relations. Monika served as a Management Board member of Bank BGŻ (currently BNP Paribas), responsible for strategy and development and supervised the strategic excellence hub in Agriculture. Earlier, she held the position of CFO at the pharmaceutical company Sanofi-Synthélabo and was a senior auditor at both Salustro Reydel (France) and Arthur Andersen (Poland).

Dariusz Pietrzak

Dariusz Pietrzak is a Vice President at Enterprise Investors responsible for managing the firm’s Investor Relations. Dariusz is also a lead person for EI’s Responsible Investing Initiative and in this capacity chairs the ESG Committee of the Polish Private Equity Association. Building on his prior corporate experiences, Dariusz is also actively involved in EI portfolio value creation, working directly with investee companies on major strategy and restructuring projects primarily in consumer goods and services and retail industries. He has also represented EI on supervisory boards of portfolio companies in consumer sector (Noriel, Romania) and IT sector (IT Works, Poland). Dariusz is a member of the Mid-Market Council of Invest Europe – pan-European private equity association.
Directly prior to joining Enterprise Investors, Dariusz managed large turnaround projects in the aviation industry, as CCO and Chief Strategy Officer at LOT Polish Airlines and Group Strategy Manager at Qantas Airways in Sydney, Australia. 
Dariusz was also a Senior Team Member and Project Manager at The Boston Consulting Group, based in Warsaw, Poland and Atlanta, USA. He led the Warsaw’s Private Equity Practice and Travel and Tourism Practice and was an active member of the firm’s global Consumer Practice. His functional expertise included restructuring, M&A and post-merger integration, commercial strategies. Dariusz managed project teams primarily in Poland, USA and CEE, but also supporting customers in other parts of Europe.
His earlier roles also include management of the Trade-Marketing and Sales Development functions within the Heineken Group.
Dariusz holds a Master degree in Strategic Management from the University of Warsaw.
