Michał Ziółkowski, Ph.D. in legal science (2017; LLM in 2009). His specializations include constitutional law, judicial review of the constitutionality of law, theory of constitutional law, liability of public authorities, and human rights. He won the Państwo i Prawo (State and Law) Award for the best doctoral thesis in the field of legal science; he authored scientific articles and chapters in monographs published by prestigious publishing houses such as Cambridge University Press, Wolters Kluwer, and C. H. Beck. Ziółkowski presented papers in Polish and English for conferences organized by domestic (the University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University, the University of Wrocław, the Institute of Law Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences) and foreign universities (European University Institute, Dublin City University, WZB Berlin Social Science Center, the University of Salamanca, the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Piza, the Czech Academy of Sciences, Academia Sinica in Taiwan). He was a member of research teams and researcher in such projects financed by Poland’s National Science Centre as “Konstytucjonalizm europejski. Pluralistyczna koncepcja relacji prawa unijnego i krajowego w orzecznictwie sądowym” (European Constitutionalism: A Pluralistic Conception of Relation Between EU and Domestic Law in Judicial Decisions; 2014–2019) and “Konstytucyjne prawo intertemporalne” (Constitutional Intertemporal Law; 2014–2018).
