Division of Constitutional Law

Division of Constitutional Law explores adoption and application of constitutional law in Poland and a few Member States of the European Union (Italy, Hungary, Czechia). The Division also focuses its research on comparative constitutional law, particularly concerning a substantive democratic institution, environment, sustainable development in constitutional law as well as the application of constitutional law by supreme courts and constitutional tribunals. The European multilevel constitutional law is also within the Division’s interests and research. The Division’s research focuses particular attention on judicial review, judicial application of human rights, constitutional change, parliamentary law in Poland and European constitutionalism impact on constitutionalism in Poland. Members of the Division use the doctrinal, normative, argumentative and comparative approaches to law.
