Visit of Camino de Paz from Yale School of Management at Kozminski University

From January 23rd to 25th, Kozminski University had the honor of hosting Mrs. Camino de Paz, Managing Director for Global Initiatives at Yale University. Her visit marked an important step in enhancing the university's collaboration with the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM) and exploring new opportunities for students, researchers, and academic staff.

During her visit, Mrs. de Paz was given a comprehensive tour of Kozminski University, led by Dr. Valentyna Guminska, Director of the International Relations Office. The tour showcased the university's facilities and highlighted its dynamic academic environment, emphasizing the university’s commitment to fostering innovation and internationalization.

An important part of the visit included engaging presentations by Kozminski University faculty. Prof. Mariola Ciszewska-Mlinaric, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, and Prof. Tomasz Olejniczak, Director of the Doctoral School, outlined how Kozminski’s programs stand out on the global stage. They discussed the university's strong emphasis on research in management sciences, finance, and economics, and its integration with international networks like GNAM. Notably, Prof. Olejniczak highlighted a future initiative enabling doctoral students to participate in exchange programs at leading business schools worldwide, providing them with unparalleled opportunities to expand their research, build global networks, and enhance their academic skills.

The visit also focused on expanding Kozminski University students' access to GNAM’s initiatives, such as Global Network Weeks (GNWs) and Small Network Online Courses (SNOCs). These programs provide students with unique learning experiences, fostering collaboration with peers from top business schools globally. Discussions also included plans to introduce Kozminski students to new GNAM initiatives, such as the Global Network Stock Trading Competition and Global Virtual Teams, aimed at developing investment and negotiation skills within international teams.

Mrs. de Paz presented Yale’s Master of Advanced Management (MAM) and Global Business & Society (GBS) programs, exclusive opportunities available to Kozminski MBA and Master’s in Management graduates through the university's GNAM membership. These programs represent a significant pathway for Kozminski alumni to gain specialized education at one of the world’s most prestigious universities.

During a working lunch, Kozminski University leaders, including Rector Prof. Grzegorz Mazurek and Vice-Rectors Prof. Mariola Ciszewska-Mlinaric and Prof. Aleksandra Przegalinska, discussed opportunities to deepen Kozminski's engagement in GNAM. The discussions underscored the value of this collaboration in driving innovation, enhancing research initiatives, and providing transformative educational experiences. The meeting was led by Prof. Piotr Wójcik, appointed by the Rector of Kozminski University to coordinate GNAM initiatives.
