Kozminski University is strengthening its collaboration with business, connecting the education of students and managers with the experience of global companies. Visa, a global leader in digital payments, is joining the University’s strategic partners. Joint educational initiatives will cover artificial intelligence, digital transformation and digital payments, alongside the development of skills needed in these fields.
Visa brings to its partnership with Kozminski University the perspective of an organisation operating at the intersection of technology, finance and commerce. This is a field in which innovation shapes the everyday decisions of businesses and consumers, and developing services requires an understanding of both technological possibilities and users’ needs. For the University, the partnership offers an opportunity to bring this experience into the education of current and future managers. Direct knowledge exchange with Visa experts will ground academic discussions about the digital economy in the realities of international business, giving participants in joint initiatives insights into how an organisation developing solutions used worldwide thinks and operates.
High-quality business education requires engagement with the decisions and challenges that organisations face. Our partnership with Visa allows us to bring the experience of a company operating on a global scale into this process. We want students and participants in our management programmes to understand how technologies develop, be able to assess their implications and make responsible decisions about their use, emphasises Professor Grzegorz Mazurek, Rector of Kozminski University.
As part of the partnership, Visa experts will participate in selected educational and business events as lecturers, mentors and panellists. Together with the University, they will develop educational content, conferences and meetings devoted to innovation and the digital economy. The University will also gain access to selected Visa market analyses and materials on industry trends for educational and non-commercial use.
The development of digital payments requires people who can combine technological knowledge with an understanding of the needs of consumers and businesses. Working with Kozminski University allows us to share our experience and learn from the perspective of the academic community. We want to support skills development both among those starting their careers and among managers responsible for change within their organisations. A strategic partnership enables us to plan these activities for the longer term, says Mateusz Oleksy, General Manager, Visa Poland.
The partnership also creates opportunities to develop further editions of educational programmes for Visa’s business partners. Participants will be able to draw on academic knowledge and practitioners’ experience, relating both to the challenges facing their own organisations.
We want participants in our joint programmes to be able to examine their decisions from a new perspective and discuss them with experts. Bringing academic knowledge and practice together in this way helps them test their assumptions and explore solutions they can later apply within their own organisations. This is the value we want to build on through further initiatives with Visa, emphasises Dr Sylwia Hałas-Dej, Vice-Rector for Development and External Relations at Kozminski University.
Visa will also have a presence on the University’s campus. Under the partnership, one of the lecture rooms will be given a name associated with Visa and feature the company’s branding. The space may be used for lectures, workshops and meetings organised by Visa.
The partnership with Visa strengthens the technological and international perspectives of Kozminski University’s strategic partnerships. The company joins the University’s strategic partners, which include ERGO Hestia, Bank Millennium, EY and TDJ.
