Tide Software managers have completed the customized two-year postgraduate program “Academy of Managerial Competences” at Kozminski University – designed for the Tide Group companies: Tide Software, Tide Mobile, and the Fabra brand (JJT Elementum). It was not a traditional educational path, but a development project tailored to the business challenges of teams working on implementing and creating technological innovations.   The two-year program comprised nearly 300 hours of lectures and practical workshops, covering topics from team management, through strategy and leadership, to the economic trends shaping the market. Each participant concluded their studies by defending a consulting project – directly linked to the business challenges of the company.   Tide Software operates in line with the Japanese Toyota Way philosophy, which is based on continuous improvement – of both processes and employees’ competences. This approach is the foundation of the company’s organizational culture, which makes internal development and career advancement opportunities particularly well thought-out.   Many managers in Poland are promoted to their positions without prior preparation. At Tide Software, we opted for a conscious, systematic development approach – our leaders can enhance their competences in many areas through programs, workshops, and conferences, participating both as attendees and speakers. Improving processes and skills is embedded in our company’s culture. The university program was an opportunity for us to take a broader perspective on the company and to translate the knowledge of business practitioners into our operations – emphasizes Jolanta Hryniewicka, Vice President of the Management Board at Tide Software.   From the beginning, we have been inspired by the Toyota Way – an approach that focuses on people, continuous improvement, and the learning organization. Companies grow thanks to teams and leaders who think like chess players: able not only to react, but to anticipate several moves ahead – both within the team and in the market. Strategic thinking requires daily practice. We show how to improve what already works well, but also how to learn from mistakes and implement improvements. Studies at Kozminski University are another step that helps to develop such competences – adds Janusz Pytlak, Co-founder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Tide Software.   The program was created for a Polish technology group but implemented according to the standards applied in international corporations.   We are proud that as a Polish technology company we can offer similar opportunities as global giants. This is an investment in people and in the future of Polish technology. Continuous improvement and development adapted to individual predispositions – rather than ready-made templates – are inscribed in Tide Software’s DNA. Because leaders are not the same, but each of them can grow, provided they have the space and a well-designed path. Thanks to cooperation with Kozminski University, our managers are even better prepared to lead teams and manage the company – says Jerzy Klimaszewski, President of the Management Board of Tide Software.   The program was prepared in cooperation with Kozminski University.   We highly value the cooperation with Tide Software, which invests in its leaders in such a conscious way. Tailor-made programs such as this one allow us to combine theory with real business challenges, making education directly impactful for the development of an organization – says Dr. Sylwia Hałas-Dej, Dean of the Center for Leadership and Management Development at Kozminski University.   Graduates of the program highlight that the studies were not only an opportunity to gain knowledge, but also for self-reflection and the exchange of experiences.   It was an intensive journey that showed us how crucial soft skills and the knowledge from practitioners are in management, and how important conscious leadership is. We were able to implement the knowledge from classes almost immediately – in our daily processes and projects – comments Izabela Kaczmarczyk, Marketing Director at Tide Software, one of the program’s participants.
