Thank-You Ceremony for Professor Kazimierz Przybysz at Kozminski University

Professor Kazimierz Przybysz, a distinguished historian and political scientist associated with Kozminski University for nearly three decades, has concluded his active academic career. During a gathering with the university’s leadership, colleagues and friends, the community expressed its deep gratitude for his exceptional contribution to the development of research, education and academic life. 

Professor Przybysz is one of the key figures in the history of Kozminski University. He served as Vice-Rector, co-creating the organizational foundation of the then-emerging institution. As a scholar and academic teacher, he inspired generations of students and PhD candidates. 

The Rector of Kozminski University, Professor Grzegorz Mazurek, emphasized Professor Przybysz’s influence on the university’s identity: "It has been a great privilege to grow alongside you, Professor, and to learn from such an authority. For years you were my Vice-Rector, my mentor, an exceptional teacher. Thank you for everything you have done for our community. You are always welcome here and always needed." 

The University’s Founder and Honorary President, Professor Andrzej K. Koźmiński, highlighted the personal and professional dimension of their long cooperation: "We have shared many years of work, but also friendship and mutual support. Thanks to Professor Przybysz, our academic life has become richer, better organized and truly pleasant. We are immensely grateful for that." 

In his address, Professor Przybysz emphasized the importance of the people who shaped his professional path: "Throughout my 28 years at the university, including 15 years as Vice-Rector, I had the privilege of working with exceptional individuals. Thanks to them we were able to accomplish many things together. I am grateful to everyone I had the pleasure of working with. It has been a great honor." 

Professor Przybysz is the author of widely respected publications on the political culture and history of the twentieth century. At Kozminski University he served as a mentor and supervisor of numerous doctoral dissertations, significantly contributing to the development of young researchers and the academic community. 

His engagement extended beyond the university. He served as Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of National Education and as Secretary of the Polish Accreditation Committee, shaping national standards in higher education and contributing to the improvement of teaching quality across the country.
