Today, the Silesian Voivodeship is one of the most demanding, but also one of the most promising markets for management professionals in Poland. The region is built on a strong presence of industry, automotive, energy, logistics and modern business services. At the same time, companies operating in Silesia are facing digitalisation, AI implementation, cybersecurity, cost pressure and the need to build organisational resilience. In such an environment, management education becomes especially important — delivered locally, yet based on international standards.
“Silesia is a region where managers combine responsibility for results with leading organisations through complex transformation on a daily basis. We want to be closer to women and men leaders who are being promoted, changing roles, structuring their managerial toolkit and looking for a reliable point of reference for quality and networking beyond their own company. Our presence in Katowice will make it possible to study locally, but according to the global standard that characterises Kozminski University,” says Dr Sylwia Hałas-Dej, Vice-Rector for Development and External Relations, Dean of Kozminski Executive Business School and Director of the Executive MBA programme.
In 2026, the Katowice branch campus will launch an offer of MBA and postgraduate programmes addressed to executives, experts, entrepreneurs and managers developing organisations in conditions of intensive technological, regulatory and organisational transformation.
An offer tailored to the realities of the region
The Katowice branch campus of Kozminski University will offer the MBA programme: Leadership, Digital Transformation and AI, delivered in a format tailored to the needs of working professionals. At the same time, the University will launch selected postgraduate programmes responding to the most common development needs: promotion into managerial roles, structuring one’s management toolkit and developing competencies needed in conditions of transformation. The offer will include, among others, programmes in project management, the development of managerial and financial competencies, as well as programmes at the intersection of technology, business and regulation, such as AI Governance & Compliance and Implementation and Use of AI Systems in Organisations. The offer will be complemented by shorter development formats - courses, training programmes and closed programmes for companies and teams.
Partnership with TDJ
An important pillar of Kozminski University’s development in Silesia is its strategic partnership with TDJ - a family-owned investment company headquartered in Katowice. The cooperation focuses on competency development, strengthening management quality and deepening practical dialogue between academia and business. For TDJ, development has always been one of the key elements of its operations, which is why the partnership with Kozminski University is a natural extension of this philosophy: supporting the building of competencies that strengthen people, organisations and the region’s long-term potential.
“Silesia and southern Poland as a whole are today a space where transformation is not a slogan, but an everyday management practice. The partnership with TDJ fits perfectly with Kozminski University’s approach: combining the international quality of management education with the real challenges faced by companies and leaders who build organisational resilience and long-term competitiveness,” says Prof. Grzegorz Mazurek, Rector of Kozminski University.
The significance of this cooperation is also emphasised by TDJ representatives: “Expanding access to high-quality, practical management education in Silesia will strengthen the competitiveness of companies and support the region’s accelerating economic transformation. At TDJ, we have attached great importance to education for many years, as it lies at the heart of development - one of the foundations of our organisation. We believe that investing in education is one of the most important ways of building a strong and resilient economy. That is why we support Kozminski University’s initiative in Katowice,” commented Tomasz Domogała, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of TDJ.
“TDJ not only has Silesian roots, but also a strong business presence in the region through its portfolio companies. From this perspective, we can clearly see that the model of competitiveness of Polish industry based on cheap energy and labour is coming to an end. Today, knowledge determines competitive advantage. That is why investments in education are crucial - they are what will allow us to compete not only in Europe, but also on global markets,” said Michał Ciszek, Vice President of the Management Board of TDJ.
Silesia as a natural direction for growth
The launch of the branch campus in Katowice results not only from market needs, but also from Kozminski University’s already existing ties with the region. Part of the academic staff and experts supporting programme development and diploma projects are connected with Silesia. In recent years, the University’s alumni community has grown by nearly 2,000 people associated with the Silesian Voivodeship, which further strengthens the local networking potential. The University is also developing cooperation with businesses and institutions strongly rooted in the region. One example is the partnership with ING Bank Śląski, as well as the University’s presence as a partner of the European Economic Congress in Katowice.
International standard of quality
Kozminski University belongs to the elite group of business schools worldwide holding the so-called Triple Crown, i.e. the EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA accreditations, and is recognised as a leading business school in Central and Eastern Europe. In 2025, the University ranked 42nd in the Financial Times European Business Schools 2025 ranking, remaining the highest-ranked business school in Central and Eastern Europe. The University’s Executive MBA was ranked among the best programmes in the world in the Financial Times EMBA 2025 ranking, also as the highest-ranked in the region. The University was also listed among the best business schools in the Financial Times Executive Education 2025 rankings, both in the open-enrolment and customised programmes categories.
