Tamara indexed in Scopus. Kozminski University’s international journal gains stronger global visibility

16.02.2026

“Tamara: Journal for Critical Organization Inquiry”, published by Kozminski University, has been accepted for coverage in Scopus – one of the world’s leading databases for scholarly literature. This is an important milestone that strengthens the journal’s international recognition and confirms that Tamara’s critical and interdisciplinary perspective has a well-established place in global academic conversation.

Scopus is an international database of scholarly abstracts and citations, used by universities, research institutes, and academic teams worldwide. For authors and editorial boards, indexing in Scopus primarily means greater visibility of articles, easier access for international readers, and the ability to track research impact through citation data. For academic institutions, inclusion in major indexing services is also a key element of research positioning, as it supports internationalisation and reinforces confidence in the quality and integrity of editorial and peer-review processes.

Inclusion in Scopus is preceded by an evaluation conducted by an independent advisory body, the Scopus Content Selection & Advisory Board (CSAB). The review considers, among other aspects, the journal’s aims and scope, the quality of published content, peer-review standards, publishing stability, and scholarly impact reflected in citations. The decision therefore represents not only a formal achievement, but also a practical expansion of the journal’s reach and presence within the international research infrastructure.

In line with Scopus policy, coverage of Tamara will begin with the 2022 volume.

Founded in 2001, Tamara has retained its creative and critical character from the very beginning, while steadily building editorial maturity and stability. It is not only an academic journal, but a platform for interdisciplinary reflection on organisations, management, and society. The journal brings together scholarships with philosophy, theory, the humanities, and interpretive approaches, with an ambition to create a space for meaningful debate rather than a purely formal academic exercise. Tamara consistently explores organisational narratives and managerial practices, drawing inspiration from critical management studies as well as feminist, humanistic, ecological, and postcolonial perspectives. At the core of its mission is the examination of power structures and hegemonic mechanisms shaping contemporary organisations, alongside a continuing interest in how organisational life influences society—and how it might be transformed towards more responsible ways of organising.

One of the features that distinguishes Tamara among academic titles is the strong international community built around the journal. Its Senior Editorial Board includes world-class scholars from the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and the Netherlands. The Board also includes Professor Andrzej K. Koźmiński, highlighting the journal’s roots in Kozminski University’s intellectual legacy and its contribution to the development of management and organisation research. This international perspective strengthens the journal’s standing and supports the global circulation of ideas: Tamara is a place where different intellectual traditions, languages of organisational inquiry and scholarly sensitivities meet. For authors, it offers the opportunity to publish in a journal that builds recognition beyond Poland while maintaining a distinctive and original profile.

Tamara has already been recognised in international rankings. The journal is listed in the Academic Journal Guide (AJG/ABS) – the respected UK-based journal ranking – longside only a small number of other Polish titles. Inclusion in Scopus is another significant step that expands the journal’s global reach and makes its publications more accessible through the tools most used by researchers worldwide.
