The success of Kozminski University’s researchers in the National Science Centre competitions

A new month begins with excellent news for the academic and research community at Kozminski University. The National Science Centre (NCN) has announced the results of its OPUS 28 and SONATA 20 grant competitions – and four research projects submitted by Kozminski University scholars have been awarded funding. The total value of the awarded grants exceeds PLN 1.58 million.   OPUS 28 – leadership in research excellence As part of the OPUS 28 competition: 🔹 Prof. Dorota Węziak-Białowolska, Ph.D. (Department of Quantitative Methods and Information Technology) received PLN 291,781 for the project “Character Strengths and Well-being: Longitudinal Analyses across 22 Countries”. The project was ranked 1st in the HS6 panel (Humans and Society). 🔹 Prof. Dorota Dobija, Ph.D. (Head of the Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance) received PLN 604,620 for the project “Hybrid Governance Practices in the Planning and Measurement of Sustainable Development Goals in Cities: A Comparative Study of Poland and Sweden” (HS4 panel – Institutions, Markets, and Space).   SONATA 20 – supporting emerging researchers In the SONATA 20 competition, aimed at researchers in the early stages of their academic careers: 🔹 Dr Marta Połeć (Department of Management) was awarded PLN 440,039, placing 1st in the HS4 panel, for her project “Beyond the Arena: An Ethnography of Contemporary Circus Organizations in Central and Eastern Europe”. 🔹 Dr Karolina Puławska, a long-standing member of the Kozminski academic community, received PLN 248,653 for her project “Insuring the Future: The Impact of ESG on Achieving Sustainable Outcomes”, ranked 4th on the list.   About the NCN competitions OPUS 28 is open to researchers with at least one published (or accepted for publication) scientific work, regardless of academic degree or title. SONATA 20 is targeted at researchers who obtained their Ph.D. between 2 and 7 years before the application year, supporting the development of innovative research at the early-career stage.   The Kozminski University community warmly congratulates the awarded scholars on their achievements.
