Responsible research in the age of AI: global research standards leaders come to Poland – at Kozminski University

12.01.2026

In June 2026, Kozminski University will host the 8th annual Responsible Research Summit – an international conference shaping the global conversation on how to conduct research that is credible, ethical, and genuinely socially impactful in a world of rapid AI advancement. The Summit is co-organised by Kozminski University as part of the RRBM (Responsible Research in Business & Management) initiative, in collaboration with leading institutions that set worldwide standards for business schools and management education: EFMD Global, AACSB International, and PRME.

What do these names stand for – and why do they matter? RRBM is a global network that has been building momentum for “responsible research” for years: research that is both methodologically rigorous (credible) and meaningful for practice and society (useful). EFMD Global is a global non-profit widely recognised as an accreditation body and one of the most influential quality communities in management education worldwide. AACSB International is the world’s largest network in business education and a leading standard-setter and accreditor – its accreditation is regarded as one of the most recognised marks of excellence for business schools globally. PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) is an UN-supported initiative advancing responsible management education and connecting universities within the global sustainability agenda.

The stature of the Summit is best reflected in the speakers it brings to Warsaw. The opening plenary will be moderated by Professor Grzegorz Mazurek, Rector of Kozminski University, with opening participants including Omid Aschari (PRME), Alfons Sauquet (EFMD Global), Lily Bi (AACSB International), and Andrew Karolyi (RRBM Chair, Cornell SC Johnson College of Business). The programme also features leading scholars from top institutions worldwide, including David J. Reibstein (The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania), Andrew Burton-Jones (Queensland University), and Saonee Sarker (Virginia Tech; RRBM Vice-Chair). Kozminski University will also be strongly represented by its faculty, including Desislava Dikova, Dorota Dobija, Izabela Grabowska, Mariola Ciszewska-Mlinarič, Paweł Korzyński, and Tomasz Olejniczak.

This edition’s most anticipated themes focus on what is currently reshaping academia: AI as a co-author and tool for knowledge creation, the boundaries of responsibility and ethics in algorithm-supported research, and how to safeguard research integrity and trust in findings in an era of automation. The Summit will also tackle research impact standards – how to demonstrate that research delivers measurable, long-term change – as well as the challenges of conducting responsible research across different cultural contexts, beyond the traditional “Western” academic centre.

For Kozminski University, the Summit is strategically significant: it brings to Warsaw a debate that will influence how research, publications, quality standards, and the societal role of universities are assessed in the coming years. Responsible Research Summit 2026 is not only a conference about AI – it is a conversation about the future of science: its credibility, its purpose, and its value.

It is also an important moment for Poland. Hosting Responsible Research Summit 2026 sends a strong signal that the country is becoming a place where global standards in research and management education are co-created – not merely adopted. The presence of leaders from RRBM, EFMD Global, AACSB and PRME, alongside world-class academic voices, strengthens the international visibility of Polish institutions and accelerates their involvement in the most current discussions on AI, ethics, and research credibility. It also provides a timely impulse for deeper collaboration between universities, business, and public institutions – towards research that moves beyond “papers” and translates into decisions, policy, and practice.
