The Rosalind Franklin Society is an organisation dedicated to supporting and promoting the achievements of women and minorities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. It was founded in honour of Rosalind Franklin, the eminent British crystallographer whose work was instrumental in the discovery of the structure of DNA. The organisation's current focus is on promoting gender equality and diversity in science. It works with a range of scientific institutions and societies to recognise and reward outstanding research, while inspiring future generations of scientists.

Each year, the Rosalind Franklin Society awards prizes to the best scientific articles published in peer-reviewed journals such as New Space. Professor Katarzyna Malinowska won the award for her publication in this very journal, published by Mary Ann Liebert, Inc.

Professor Malinowska was recognised for her research on space law, in particular for her article ‘Challenges of Entering the Space Market: Case of Entrepreneurs in Central Eastern Europe’. The winning essay can be found online.

Kozminski University community congratulates Professor Katarzyna Malinowska for her contribution to science and for inspiring others with her research career.
