Prof. Katarzyna Malinowska joins the Consultative Expert Group on Data Use in Insurance, established by the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA)

The Consultative Expert Group on Data Use in Insurance is a multidisciplinary body composed of 26 experts representing the insurance sector, academia, consumer organizations, and other key financial market institutions. Its primary objective is to analyze challenges and opportunities related to data use in the insurance sector, with a particular focus on digitalization and ethical data processing.

The experts will work on recommendations regarding data sharing and its impact on the insurance sector, supporting EIOPA's efforts in regulatory policy and data-related strategies. The group will commence its work in March 2025, and its activities will continue for 12 months.

EIOPA (European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority) is an EU institution overseeing the insurance and occupational pensions market in Europe. Its mission is to ensure the stability and transparency of the insurance sector while protecting consumer interests. The authority develops guidelines and regulatory recommendations, ensuring uniform standards across the European Union member states.
