Prof. Dorota Węziak-Białowolska and Prof. Piotr Białowolski are co-authors of a series of scientific articles prepared within the framework of the international Global Flourishing Study project, conducted in collaboration with leading research institutions and the Gallup Institute.

One of the key publications, authored by Prof. Piotr Białowolski as first author, focuses on the predictors of financial well-being, examining the influence of demographic factors and childhood experiences. The analysis spans 22 countries, and the article will appear in the prestigious journal Nature Human Behaviour.

Other articles co-authored by researchers affiliated with Kozminski University explore a wide range of topics related to individual well-being – psychological, emotional, social, and economic. The studies examine, among others, childhood factors that influence prosocial behaviors such as helping and charitable giving, demographic predictors of forgiveness, and variations in moral and prosocial attitudes across countries, age groups, genders, and education levels. All analyses are based on data from over 20 countries, making the project one of the most comprehensive studies of well-being ever conducted on a global scale.

These publications represent a significant contribution to the development of research on individual and societal flourishing worldwide. Thanks to their interdisciplinary approach and the application of advanced analytical tools, the findings may inform public policy, education, nonprofit initiatives, and business practices aimed at improving quality of life.

All articles will be publicly available starting April 30, 2025. On that same day, the Nature-Springer Global Flourishing Study will be officially presented by the Gallup Institute during a high-profile international event held in Washington, D.C. and streamed online. Organized in collaboration with the Human Flourishing Program at Harvard University, Baylor University’s Institute for Studies of Religion, and the Center for Open Science, the event will bring together leading global experts from multiple sectors.

The gathering is designed for scientists, corporate executives, nonprofit leaders, educators, policymakers, and philanthropists. The program will feature two dynamic panel discussions focused on the scientific understanding of human flourishing and its real-world applications. Attendees will gain insights from world-renowned experts in psychology, social science, and well-being, and will have the opportunity to engage with thought leaders from academia, business, government, and the nonprofit sector. The event will also showcase key findings from the Global Flourishing Study.
