Prof. Aleksandra Przegalińska, Vice-Rector for Innovation and AI at Kozminski University and Director of Human Race – the Center for Human–Machine Interaction Research, has received the title of Mazovia Personality of the Year 2025 in the Innovation and New Technologies category.
The winners of the competition, organised by Polska Press, were selected by readers in a public vote. Prof. Przegalińska was nominated for promoting knowledge about artificial intelligence in the media, leading international projects and mentoring young women leaders in the technology sector.
Her research focuses on human–AI collaboration and the impact of emerging technologies on organisations, the labour market, education and decision-making. A central area of her work is human-centred AI – solutions designed around human needs, capabilities and responsibility.
At Kozminski University, Prof. Przegalińska leads Human Race – the Center for Human–Machine Interaction Research. She also co-creates international research and educational initiatives. Together with Prof. Izabela Grabowska, she coordinates EUonAIR, a European university alliance developing applications of artificial intelligence in higher education. She collaborates with Harvard University and has previously been affiliated with Columbia University and the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence.
In 2026, Prof. Przegalińska joined the Council of the Future established by the Prime Minister of Poland. She also received the 2026 Stars of Internationalisation award in the Development Star category and was named AI Visionary of the Year in 2025.
The Mazovia Personality of the Year 2025 title is another recognition of Prof. Przegalińska’s research, public engagement and contribution to the broader understanding of artificial intelligence. It also affirms Kozminski University’s position as a leading Polish centre for research on AI, its social consequences and the future of human–technology collaboration.
