29.01.2026

Prof. Aleksandra Przegalińska, Vice-Rector for Innovation and AI at Kozminski University, has been named a laureate of the prestigious “Internationalization Stars 2026” Award in the Development Star category. The award recognizes her exceptional contribution to advancing the internationalization of Polish universities, especially through innovative educational and research initiatives grounded in artificial intelligence.

The “Internationalization Stars” Award is a prestigious community distinction granted since 2018 to individuals who have made a significant contribution to opening Polish higher education institutions to international cooperation. The initiative is organized by the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (CRASP) and the Perspektywy Education Foundation as part of the “Study in Poland” program.

Innovation, artificial intelligence, and international cooperation

Prof. Aleksandra Przegalińska serves as Vice-Rector for Innovation and AI at Kozminski University. In her research, she focuses on human–AI interaction and the impact of new technologies on the labor market, education, and decision-making processes. For several years, she has been actively developing the University’s international collaboration, including projects carried out jointly with Harvard University.

She is also the leader of the EUonAIr European Universities Alliance, which brings together partners from multiple European countries around the theme of responsible implementation of artificial intelligence in higher education. One of the Alliance’s key initiatives is the development of a transnational virtual educational platform—a synthetic campus that enables students from different countries to study together, engage in academic mobility, and use advanced AI-based tools.

The jury and the idea behind the award

The laureates of the “Internationalization Stars” Award are selected by a Jury composed of representatives of key institutions involved in the internationalization of higher education, including CRASP, NAWA, FRSE, as well as academic and student communities. The mission of the Award is to promote individuals whose activities have a tangible impact on the global visibility and attractiveness of Polish universities. This year, the Jury selected nine laureates from among 56 nominations submitted by Polish higher education institutions.
