Positive Impact Rating 2024 - Kozminski University again among business schools making a positive impact on the world

08.08.2024

Positive Impact Rating (PIR) is an initiative run by students and for students. This year, for the fifth time, students around the world rated their business schools on how they perceive their positive impact on the world - on business, the economy and society. The assessment included curricula and teaching methods, the support offered to students, setting a role model and community involvement. The PIR thus measures the social impact of business universities, as seen through the eyes of their students.

The Positive Impact Rating 2024 report was presented during the launch session at the PRME Global Forum 2024, an event attended by students, business school representatives and other social stakeholders from around the world.

Students from 88 schools in 34 countries participated in the fifth edition of the PIR Business School survey. Out of these, 77 schools were selected and ranked.

We are extremely proud to be once again among business schools from all over the world that have a positive impact on society and the economy,' emphasises Professor Grzegorz Mazurek, Rector of Kozminski University. This confirms that our approach to education, which combines innovation with social responsibility, is effective and appreciated by students. Kozminski University is committed to developing future leaders who will be guided not only by knowledge, but also by ethics.

As in previous editions, business schools were assessed and assigned to one of five levels. Kozminski University has been present in the PIR ranking since the beginning, and its strong position is highlighted by the fact that it was the only one in Poland to reach Level 4.

Level 5: Leaders in positive social impact - universities that demonstrate unique leadership in all its dimensions. They pay particular attention to sustainability, ethics and social responsibility in every aspect of their activities - from research to teaching to university management.

Level 4: Universities that demonstrate positive social impact across multiple dimensions of influence. They inspire change and implement solutions that support sustainability and social responsibility in their strategies.

Level 3: Universities that positively excel in several dimensions of impact. They boast programmes and initiatives focused on social responsibility, but are still developing.

Level 2: Universities that are beginning to translate statements into positive actions in one or more dimensions of impact. They are taking the first steps in integrating sustainability and ethical practices into their educational programmes and operations, among others.

Level 1: Universities at the beginning of their journey in social responsibility and sustainability activities.

Each level of the PIR shows the different stages of commitment and maturity of business schools in integrating the principles of responsible management and social responsibility. Understanding these levels helps potential students, employers and other stakeholders to assess how universities are meeting their missions to create positive social impact.
