The President of the Republic of Poland has conferred the title of Professor in Social Sciences in the discipline of Economics and Finance upon Piotr Białowolski. This prestigious distinction recognizes his significant contribution to the development of science and research in the field of economics and finance. Scientific Achievements and Academic Activities Prof. Piotr Białowolski is a professor at Kozminski University in the Department of Economics. His research interests focus on household financial behavior and quality of life. Throughout his academic career, he has spent nearly a decade working at universities and research institutes in Italy, Germany, and the United States. In Hamburg, he studied factors influencing the academic success of East Asian students, identifying key elements of their academic resilience. At the University of Milan, his research focused on the evolution of the quality of life of Italian households from the perspective of their financial situation. At the University of Turin, as a recipient of a Marie Curie Fellowship under the 7th Framework Programme of the European Union, he analyzed household financial behaviors and their impact on well-being. Since June 2017, Prof. Białowolski has been collaborating with various departments at Harvard University. Initially, he continued his research on the relationship between financial decisions and quality of life at the Institute for Quantitative Social Science. In 2018, he joined the Sustainability and Health Initiative at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, directing his research interests toward employee well-being.
