21.03.2025

Minister of Science and Higher Education, Marcin Kulasek, has announced the establishment of the Team for the Development of the Higher Education Strategy – a newly formed expert body responsible for preparing a long-term development plan for universities in Poland. Among the appointed members is Professor Grzegorz Mazurek, Rector of Kozminski University.

The team, which began its work on March 17, 2025, consists of 18 distinguished scientists and practitioners representing a wide range of disciplines and academic environments. Its objective is to identify future priorities, essential competencies, and mechanisms that will enable universities to respond effectively to evolving social and economic challenges. The new strategy will also support the state's efforts in designing support programs, funding models, and academic staff development.

– We operate under the principle that actions taken today will yield results tomorrow. The creation of this strategy team is a clear example of this approach, and the long-term outcomes of its work will contribute to the development of the entire country – emphasized Minister Marcin Kulasek.

The team includes experts in the fields of management, social sciences, technology, economics, education, humanities, and the natural sciences. The inclusion of Kozminski University’s Rector is a recognition of the institution’s prominent standing within both the national and international academic community. It also reaffirms the university’s role as a leader in shaping a modern, open, and responsible model of education.

Professor Grzegorz Mazurek has been actively involved in the development of higher education in Poland and abroad for many years, combining the perspectives of a researcher, manager, and advocate of innovative educational solutions. His participation in the advisory team is not only an honor for our academic community but also an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the future direction of the higher education sector.

At the same time, the Minister of Science announced changes to the composition of the Science Policy Committee for the 2022–2027 term, appointing six new members representing a wide array of specializations – from physical chemistry and engineering to biotechnology, food technology, history, and literary studies. The expansion of this advisory body aims to better align national science policy with the dynamic socio-economic transformations underway in Poland and beyond.
