At Kozminski University, the bespoke Maspex “Ready to Fly” development programme has come to an end – a flagship element of the University’s collaboration with Maspex Group, one of Europe’s leading food and beverage manufacturers. The final day captured everything that matters most in executive education: working on real challenges, the courage to propose solutions, and a moment to reflect on the journey the participants completed as a team.
Programme participants presented solutions developed in response to Maspex’s specific needs and business challenges. The discussions were not about theory, but about practical decisions: how to combine internal and external resources in a production model; how to design logistics based on multiple scenarios; how to strengthen cross-departmental collaboration and break down silos; how to plan sales structures wisely and optimise the use of human resources; and how to prepare the organisation for demographic and market changes over the coming years. The “here and now” work was firmly grounded in the company’s reality – while keeping the future in view.
“Ready to Fly” was a year-long development cycle delivered at Kozminski University and designed for the management team of Maspex Group. Its structure covered three dimensions that were particularly evident in the final projects: modern leadership (team management and intergenerational communication), current market trends (including digital transformation and the use of AI), and effective organisational management (a strategic and operational approach to value creation and risk management). The programme was launched in January 2025 and, from the outset, was built to provide maximum support for leaders developing the competencies required in a rapidly changing business environment.
The presentations were evaluated by a joint committee from Kozminski University and Maspex Group, including Krzysztof Pawiński (CEO), Robert Wawro (Chief Operating Officer), and Katarzyna Szokaluk (Deputy Director for Compensation and Development). The project defences took the form of a partner-based discussion – about the quality of solutions, their feasibility, and how managerial capabilities translate into a genuine organisational advantage.
The day concluded with a ceremonial graduation and the awarding of diplomas. It was a symbolic closure to an intensive development cycle, but also the start of the next stage: implementing the ideas developed and applying new competencies in everyday work. “Ready to Fly” did not end with a diploma – It remained in practice: in decisions, in projects, and in ways of thinking.
“Ready to Fly” was part of a broader educational partnership between Kozminski University and Maspex Group, which also includes a curated training portfolio for the director-level management team, as well as access to the University’s open courses and postgraduate programmes.
“‘Ready to Fly’ and other initiatives delivered as part of this partnership are an excellent example of how academia and business can work together to develop talent and strengthen managerial competencies,” emphasises Klaudia Fatah, Director of Corporate Training and Programmes at Kozminski University.
