Martyna Łuszczek studies economics at the Leon Koźmiński Academy in Warsaw. She is one of the creators of the Aquacollector, a portable device designed to collect and recycle microplastics from water bodies. These small particles of various types of synthetics, formed by the decomposition of rubbish in water, adversely affect the health of organisms that mistakenly consume them as food and also enter the human body. The Aquacollector device has attracted the interest of many foreign businesses and institutions. Last year, Martyna was invited to promote the Aquacollector at the World Economic Conference EXPO in Dubai.
At just 19 years old, Martyna already has a long list of achievements to her credit. She has appeared on McKinsey & Company’s "25 under 25" list, as well as Perspektywa Foundation's Top 100 Women in AI" Perspektywy Foundation list. Her competition wins include the Queen Kazimiera Foundation's ‘Young Polish Woman’ competition (in the ‘Inventions, Innovations and New Technologies’ category) and the ‘ProtoLab Academy’ for technological innovation, organised by the Podkarpackie Innovation Centre. Aquacollector made her the youngest speaker at the prestigious World Economic Conference EXPO in Dubai, as well as the youngest ever Polish assistant to the Minister of Digitalisation. Her plans for the future include investing in scientific development, supporting sustainability and creating new technologies to support the mental health of students around the world. She is also committed to supporting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to access education.
The Kozminski University community would like to congratulate Martyna Luszczek on joining the finalists of the TOP 50 Global Student Prize 2024. The Chegg.org Global Student Prize is a prestigious prize worth USD 100,000, awarded to a student who makes a significant impact on education, the lives of their peers and society.
