On March 14, 2025, the final of the “ECO-nomics of development. Young leaders of change” competition took place, organized as part of the EduSmartGrowth project by the Warsaw Banking Institute Foundation. The competition, aimed at promoting sustainable development and innovative solutions that combine ecology with economy, brought together secondary school students from across Poland. As a knowledge partner, Kozminski University was honored to support this initiative, whose final took place in Warsaw, where participants presented their ideas for ecology and economic responsibility.

Six teams from different parts of Poland qualified for the final, presenting projects aimed at environmental protection and improving the quality of life in local communities. The winners of the competition were teams from Bobowa and Mieczysławowo, who received grants of PLN 10,000 each to implement their projects. Students from Słupsk were also awarded with ESG workshops for their school.

The jury, including Marta Klewińska from Kozminski University, Michał Wróblewski from Santander Bank Polska, and Ariel Wojciechowski from InPost Green City, had the challenging task of selecting the winners, evaluating projects in terms of innovation, feasibility, and their potential impact on local communities.

“We are proud to support initiatives that engage young people in the implementation of sustainable development projects. The competition participants demonstrated that environmental care and economic responsibility are not just trendy slogans but concrete actions that bring measurable benefits. Kozminski University has been committed to ecology and social responsibility education for years, and we are pleased to have supported this initiative,” said Marta Klewińska, a jury member and representative of the university.

The competition is part of the EduSmartGrowth educational project, which aims to spread knowledge about sustainable development, especially among students and teachers in secondary schools. Nationwide lessons with experts, radio broadcasts, and access to educational materials that support teachers in teaching about ecology and sustainability are also part of the project.
