11.04.2025

On April 11, 2025, the Final of the national knowledge competition on mental health was held at the Office of the Ombudsman for Children. The event gathered nearly 1,000 young participants from all over the country, focusing on one key question: how can individuals effectively support mental health – both their own and that of others?

The competition was held under the honorary patronage of Kozminski University, alongside the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of Health, the Mazovian Superintendent of Education, the Mayor of Warsaw, the Ombudsman for Children, and the University of Warsaw. The event was organized by the Future Tomorrow Organization and the Civic Association in Ursus. Its aim is to raise awareness about mental health and promote values of empathy and openness among youth.

One of the highlights of the event was a speech by Professor Jolanta Tkaczyk, Vice-Rector for Students and Quality of Education at Kozminski University. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of systemic support for young people and the need to engage in open and informed dialogue about mental well-being. Her words were met with great interest and appreciation from the audience.

Among the prizes awarded to the finalists were scientific publications by Kozminski University researchers, who have been working for years to create an accessible and supportive academic environment. The event also served as an opportunity to highlight the work of the university’s Accessibility and Well-being Office, which offers psychological support and assistance to students and staff with special needs in their academic and professional development.

Kozminski University extends its heartfelt congratulations to all winners and expresses gratitude to the organizers for their commitment to the development of the younger generation and for creating a space for open discussion about mental health. The initiative represents an important step toward building a more aware, inclusive, and supportive society.
