Five of the top university teams competed in the Warsaw Stock Exchange trading floor for a spot in the EMEA quarterfinals of the prestigious CFA Institute Research Challenge. The two best teams consisted of students from Kozminski University, who will now represent Poland in the next stage of the international competition.

The gold-winning team, led by Zofia Wojtacha, included Shaheer Ansari, Oskar Witkowski, Aniket Thakkar, and Anastazja Domek. Their academic advisor was Prof. Franjo Mlinarić, while their industry mentor was Jakub Ptak.

The silver-winning team, led by Jakub Czerwiński, included Adam Wojtkiewicz, Karol Różycki, Krzysztof Janisiewicz, and Ba Toan Nguyen. The team was guided by Dr. Marek Panfil, with Maciej Małetka serving as their industry mentor.

Preparation for the competition lasted several months and involved financial analysis, company valuation, and investment reporting. Participants had the opportunity to refine their skills under the guidance of experts from CFA Society Poland, which was key to achieving such a high level of presentation.

As Prof. Franjo Mlinarić emphasized:

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an excellent bridge between theory and real market practice. For students, it serves as a gateway to future careers, offering a chance to apply their knowledge in real business scenarios. Looking at the career paths of our graduates, we see that this competition is an exceptional opportunity for development.

The winning teams will now begin preparations for the next stages of the competition, where they will compete against the best teams from the EMEA region. This achievement is a major recognition of Kozminski University's high-level financial education.

The Kozminski University community congratulates all participants and advisors on this outstanding success! Best of luck in the next stages of the competition!
