The "AdaptiFit" project, created by a team of Kozminski University students – Halina Danielak, Jakub Godlewski, Stanisław Miliński, and Katarzyna Łopuszyńska – under the academic supervision of Dr. Paweł de Pourbaix, won first place in the prestigious FIFA/CIES International University Network Prize 2025. This marks the second time that students from Kozminski University have triumphed in this global competition.
The competition is organized by the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) in Switzerland, operating under the patronage of FIFA. CIES supports the development of sports management through education, research, and cooperation with universities worldwide. The FIFA/CIES Network Prize is the most prestigious award recognizing the best student projects developed within programs run in partnership with FIFA/CIES.
This year, an international jury evaluated 14 projects submitted by universities from various countries. After careful analysis, the main prize was awarded to the "AdaptiFit" project, designed to support people with disabilities in engaging in sports activities.
"AdaptiFit" is a mobile application that facilitates access to sports for people with disabilities. The platform enables locating sports facilities adapted to the needs of people with disabilities, assessing the accessibility of clubs, venues, and sporting events, connecting users with sports clubs and event organizers, and creating a community of athletes with disabilities, supporting each other in their physical activities.
The jury praised the project for its originality, innovative approach, practical application, and use of new technologies. Experts highlighted the existing gap in the Polish sports market and emphasized that "AdaptiFit" offers a concrete and feasible solution, which can positively impact social inclusion and accessibility of sports for individuals with physical limitations.
This is the second victory for Kozminski University students in the FIFA/CIES Network Competition, further proving the high quality of sports education at the university and the effectiveness of a practical approach to sports management.
