The President of the Republic of Poland has conferred the title of professor on Kozminski University scholars Aleksandra Przegalińska, Paweł Korzyński and Christopher Hartwell.
Aleksandra Przegalińska was conferred the title of professor in the field of social sciences, in the discipline of management and quality studies. She is Vice-Rector for Innovation and AI at Kozminski University, a faculty member at the Department of Management in Networked and Digital Societies, and Head of the HUMANRACE Research Center. Her research focuses on the development of artificial intelligence and human–technology relations, including human–AI collaboration, social robots, and the impact of new technologies on organizations and work. She is a graduate of The New School for Social Research in New York and conducted research as a visiting scholar at the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence. Her research experience also includes the ethical aspects of chatbots, wearable technologies, and human functioning in digital environments.
Paweł Korzyński was conferred the title of professor in the field of social sciences, in the discipline of management and quality studies. He is Vice-Rector for Research and Faculty Development at Kozminski University and Head of the Department of Human Resource Management. His research focuses primarily on leadership, human resource management, professional social networking platforms, and the impact of technology on leaders and organizations. From 2011 to 2013, he participated in a research programme at Harvard Business School, and since 2016 he has collaborated with INSEAD Business School, where his research has addressed topics including technostress. He is the author of numerous publications on human resource management and leadership in international academic journals, as well as the book Leadership in the Digital Age. He combines academic research with practical experience in HR consulting, executive search, and HR technology.
Christopher Hartwell was conferred the title of professor in August 2026 in the field of social sciences, in the discipline of economics and finance. At Kozminski University, he is affiliated with the Department of Strategy and International Business. He is also Professor of International Business Policy and Director of the International Management Institute at the ZHAW School of Management and Law in Zurich, and previously served as President of the Center for Social and Economic Research CASE in Warsaw. His research focuses primarily on the development and evolution of economic institutions and the relationship between business and politics. His work has been published in journals including the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Journal of World Business, and Journal of Comparative Economics. He holds a PhD in Economics from the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, is a graduate of the Master in Public Policy programme at Harvard University, and is the author of books on the economic transformation of Poland, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan.
The title of professor is the highest academic title in Poland. It is conferred by the President of the Republic of Poland following a procedure conducted in accordance with the regulations governing higher education and science.
The conferral of the title of professor on Aleksandra Przegalińska, Paweł Korzyński and Christopher Hartwell is an important recognition of their academic achievements and further confirms the development of Kozminski University’s research strength in management, new technologies, economics, and finance.
