The City of Warsaw has signed a cooperation agreement with Kozminski University. This is yet another step in the city’s ongoing engagement in dialogue with the academic community. To date, Warsaw has initiated partnerships with six higher education institutions located in the capital.

On May 29, 2025, a formal agreement was signed between the City of Warsaw and Kozminski University. The aim of this partnership is to harness academic expertise in economics and management to support the development of Warsaw as a modern, open, and innovative city.

Kozminski University is a business school with strong achievements in the fields of management, finance, law, and economics. It serves as a valuable source of knowledge for the city’s development.

"Warsaw is determined to continue its dynamic growth. This partnership with Kozminski University gives us the opportunity to tap into the university’s immense intellectual potential, gain access to the latest research, and benefit from the experience of an academic environment that has been educating business and public sector leaders for years. It is an important component of the development of Warsaw and the Warsaw metropolitan area," emphasizes Maciej Fijałkowski, Secretary of the Capital City of Warsaw.

A partnership rooted in practice and knowledge

The signed agreement provides for multifaceted cooperation: from joint research, analyses, and expert opinions to educational and social initiatives. It also includes collaboration on the development of public policy, social innovation, and the implementation of technological solutions.

To ensure the effective coordination of activities, a working group will be established, comprising representatives of both the city and the university, responsible for planning and monitoring joint initiatives.

"Collaboration with the City of Warsaw is a natural direction for Kozminski University," says Professor Grzegorz Mazurek, Rector of Kozminski University. "As a research-driven university with extensive international experience, we are committed to actively shaping a modern, inclusive, and sustainable metropolis. We believe that academia and practice can work together to create real value for the city and its residents."

One example of already ongoing joint projects is the Warsaw Talent Cluster, led by the Center for Research on Social Change and Mobility at Kozminski University in cooperation with the City of Warsaw. The project provides data essential for shaping the city’s strategies for attracting talent and developing future leaders.
