Kozminski University awarded prestigious Widening Grant from the European University Institute

Kozminski University has been awarded the prestigious Widening Grant by the European University Institute (EUI). The research project “AISOME: AI, Society and Migration Employment” will be carried out within an international partnership and is coordinated by researchers from Kozminski University in collaboration with a scholar from the EUI.

The project “AISOME: AI, Society and Migration Employment” focuses on analysing the impact of artificial intelligence on the labour market in the context of migration and social change. It brings together perspectives from technology studies, public policy research, and labour mobility. Research conducted under the grant will include, among others, analyses of AI-related regulations, changes in labour markets, and the consequences of technological transformation for migrants and mobile workers in Europe and beyond.

The project is coordinated by Prof. Aleksandra Przegalińska and Prof. Izabela Grabowska from Kozminski University, together with Prof. Deirdre Curtin from the European University Institute. The grant was awarded under the Widening instrument, which aims to strengthen the research capacity of institutions from countries covered by the programme and to foster long-term scientific cooperation at the European level.

The European University Institute is one of the most renowned research centres in Europe, specialising in social sciences, law, and public policy. Securing the Widening Grant confirms the strong position of Kozminski University in research on artificial intelligence, migration, and labour markets. The project aligns with the University’s strategic development priorities, combining interdisciplinary research with international collaboration and tangible impact on public debate and the shaping of European policies.
