Kozminski University holds the Partner for Climate 2026 status, confirmed by a certificate issued by the City of Warsaw. This distinction recognizes the University’s commitment to climate protection, climate education, and the sustainable development of the city.
The Partner for Climate certificate is awarded as part of the Climate Partnership platform, an initiative of the City of Warsaw. Its aim is to carry out educational, promotional, and project-based activities together with partners in response to climate change, while supporting the city’s efforts to achieve climate neutrality.
Kozminski University’s participation in the Climate Partnership is part of its broader commitment to social responsibility, the development of expert knowledge, and dialogue on environmental challenges. For the University, the Partner for Climate 2026 status is both a distinction and a commitment to further developing educational, organizational, and expert initiatives for the climate and the residents of Warsaw.
As part of this cooperation, Dr. Agata Stasik represented Kozminski University at the General Assembly of the Climate Partnership, held on June 19, 2026, in Warsaw. The meeting was devoted, among other topics, to summarizing the Partnership’s activities to date, discussing its future and development directions, and addressing adaptation measures related to heatwaves. The agenda also included standards and best practices, the role of the private sector, and opportunities for greater involvement of partners in initiatives that strengthen the city’s resilience to the effects of climate change.
Attention was given to the concept of Cooling Spaces – places available to residents during periods of high temperatures. Participants discussed the barriers, benefits, and opportunities associated with creating such spaces within different organizations, as well as the “Heat Alert!” campaign, which aims to raise awareness and improve residents’ safety during heatwaves.
The Climate Partnership brings together institutions, organizations, and companies willing to share knowledge, experience, and resources in pursuit of a common goal: protecting the environment and climate and building a sustainable Warsaw.
